This. Sadly, way too many politicians think they've been "sent to Washing to fix this" and will therefore "do something" legislatively that all too often (almost always) treats the symptom but makes the disease worse.
I already know someone who walked away from his house even though he could afford it. And he wasn't under water by much either (10-15 grand tops) AND he put 12 grand in home improvements on his credit card. Walked away from the house and is now considering BK to get out from the credit card debt which he now resents because he no longer owns the house. Sad thing is, he honestly thinks he "stuck it to the man" in doing so. Meanwhile his credit is trashed, etc. Whatever, I tried to talk sense into him. Anyway sorry for the thread jack. I hear ya, I know of three ppl that have done it. Remember that good credit is king. I know of three ppl passed over for jobs because they had a foreclosure of a car repossession on their credit. I cannot move, but that does not mean I will make it worse by bailing on my obligations. Many Americans do not get that though. On the legislative front: Problem is that the American voting public has taught politicians that they want to be saved, so politicians will "appear" to be doing everything for the constituent base they can to get reelected. It is a vicious cycle. It is no more than self preservation run a muck. |

Buzz,
Have you looked at the Sector and the broader market? Housing sales at a 15 year low. Government shucking jobs faster than the private sector is creating them. Looming tax increases for the middle class. All that equates to a opaque picture of how this recovery will look like. It has some investors scared. I see it a possible opportunity to buy. Stock went below 10 a share for a few minutes today. Many do not see a double dip, but a long drawn out recovery. Given where we are as a company, that may be OK. Those that have, are spending and we are in the black. Growth may not be as rampant as some want, but if we can keep in the black until unemployment levels go below 7.5% we should be OK. When we hit that level we will be able to expand and hold prices firm as demand will be inline with expansion. Like everyone I am watching for a buy in point. Not to mention that Pluto lost its coveted "planet status" - what a crappy year this is turning out to be. ;) Who the hell wants to live in a system with just 8 planets anyway? Scoop |

If it's any consolation, one of saturn's moons is bigger than mercury and it is not considered a planet. Pluto lost planet status earlier than this year. |
