That's a pretty overarching statement. I'll buy that to a degree but for the fact that most DAL 73s have more FC seats, and have sat TV and wireless. Most of the DAL 320s don't. Also, being able to actually read the rows and seats on the 320 would be a huge improvement. I fly the 73N, I DH all too often on the 320, I can't tell you how many times I've had to point pax towards their proper seats on the 320. I know where to look and I can't find the frikkin things. Who designed the row/seat identifiers, and why?
If the amenitites were the same (PTV etc.) the A-319/320 would blow the 737 out of the water. They both have gogo internet though...if I was someone with a Netflix account I'd take the 320 in a second. Pick your own entertainment. |

Don't know why we changed but we did. We are inland. Its a good and bad change. Not as nice a beach location but MUCH more to do in and around the hotel. Free breakfast and happy hour and a killer sushi place around the corner. I like the change personally (and I'm there A LOT).
A caveat, it does suck on cruise ship weekends. Its packed and every cat rancher not wearing a DAL FA uniform is in attendance. |
^^^^^^^^^^^^^ amen. No fish in a shopping plaza, well unless you count the goldfish at the local petmart...........

One of my best layovers was when the Captain and I went driftboat fishing in FLL. We didn't catch anything but a really good buzz. I filled my lunchbag with beer only to find out the boat captain had a cooler full of dollar beers.:) He whipped those bad boys out when we were off the coast a couple miles. $25 for four hours out on the ocean and now were stuck at another shopping mall....that sucks. BTW, I got to fly a Maule today. WOW!!! My feet have gotten really lazy flying the Maddog. |

The row identifiers are not good on the 320.... but as far as comfort, there is no comparison between the 320 and the 737/757 (737/757 share the same fuselage barrel diameter). The 320 is MUCH wider and quieter. Got my bid in on the DTW 320 this bid at a certain %. We'll see... |

Got my bid in on the DTW 320 this bid at a certain %. We'll see... They do need to put some tv's on that thing though! Whoever said use netflix obviously hasn't tried to stream something that data rich over our wifi on the planes. Netflix doesn't give a great picture when using wifi on the ground half the time. |

Complete inability to swap days and constant unstacking. The DTW 320 I'd be sitting better than 60%. I set a target % with better than break even on weekends and commuting expenses. |

They are illuminated with large numbers! The row numbers cannot be any easier to see than on the A-320 series.

I hate to say it, but I think you are spot-on in your assessment of Boeing vs Airbus. I think Airbus is going to have a hay-day in the next couple of decades IF they don't step on their own toes with the A-380, and that C-130 competitor they have been trying to get into the market with. They are about as behind schedule/over cost with it, as Boeing is with the 787. But the difference I see is that Airbus seems to be more ready to listen to their customers than Boeing--at least on the commercial aviation side. That's the thing that keeps Boeing's stock going up. They are flush with military contracts and space delivery systems to keep them going for a long time. I deplore the idea of not "buying American", but when the supplier doesn't listen to their customers......I truly hope BA gets their act together.
A few years ago that was the sentiment of Airbus. Now that the 380 flew and is in passenger service the focus when back on to Boeing. When the 787 is delivered to ANA the focus will be back on the 350XWB and all of the problems that Airbus has not had to make "that" public because Boeing keeps falling on its face. I do agree with the "Global Supply Chain" issues though. Way to far reaching, way too fast. Doing something of this magnitude, you must expect mating issues like they have seen. |
