Sadly, it looks like a CRJ700 or 900 which means we will buy another one to replace it.

By the video, that 380 looked like it was moving at a decent clip. I can only imagine what the impact felt like in the CRJ.

That was my first thought also. That Air France was going mighty fast.
You'd think he would slow down just a bit if his wingtip clearance was going to be that tight. What was he thinking?
Is it possible he did not see the Comair?

But probably for the same reason that the same cadre of guys are always in the limelight at alpa. It just wouldn't be fun work.. for most of us... I know I'm not interested in doing that kind of work. I would much rather fly airplanes. And maybe DPA wouldn't be any different if they took over.. maybe they would... I just think that alpa needs a little kick in the ass on a continuing basis to let them know that they are one vote away from having to really go to work somewhere. Just like the following... when alpa knows their cushy gig is on the line.. they will work a little harder...

YouTube - Ghostbusters - They expect results
Have you shared that specific information regarding “the waste and abuse that continually gets a pass throughout the association” with your Delta pilot representatives??? The “same cadre of guys that are always in the limelight at alpa” are Delta pilots willing to do the work that you are not, because you would rather fly airplanes. It would be nice if everyone could just fly airplanes and no one had to do the work, but that certainly is not the case. Sometimes the work has to be done even when it isn’t fun. Believe it or not, Delta pilots are your union and your representatives. ALPA Int’l is a resource that Delta pilots use. There is NO cushy gig, and perhaps you would know that if you ever had volunteered for something. The fact is, it is all about volunteering, whether it’s to represent, work on a committee, or take your personal extra time to show up to a meeting. That won’t change even if you prefer to make the change to another union that has no resources.

OK, so here it is, hot off the NMB website (I had to type it freehand since I couldn't select it to copy for some reason):

CONCLUSION

The Board finds that Chatauqua, Shuttle, RA, Frontier and Lynx are operating as as a single transportation system (Republic Airlines et al/Frontier) for the craft or class of Pilots for representation purposes under the RLA. As detailed below, the former Midwest Pilots are included in the single transportation system...

The entire finding is posted on the NMB website (NMB.gov - What's New - Determinations - Fiscal Year 2011 - Page Cite 138).

Now let's see what ALPA does.

What's the word on the street about the AE?

No one answered on the 4th floor ( must be busy) so I am wondering if there is any real scoop out there!

Thx

The Air France crew probably had their smug noses up in the air. Hard to see the peons and ugly Americans below with an elevated nose!

ALPA will do nothing.
Their spokesman issued a statement yesterday:

"The NMB's ruling has no contractual implications".

You mean AF will pay to replace it. In the Audio it seems AF doesn't even realize it hit them and only slowed to give way to opposite traffic.
