Authorized Person Drop

My wife and I are expecting a baby and I had to APD a 5 day trip starting tomorrow, because I wanted to make sure that I'm home for the birth. However, I was wondering if I'm allowed to WS day trips in base since I APD the 5 day? Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure about this. But if you only APD'd the first day of the trip, for example, (which caused the whole trip to be dropped) then you can WS on any of the rest of the days that were not APD'd. I don't believe you can WS on any days that you APD'd.

Good luck with the new baby!!! :) Enjoy your time... they grow up WAY too fast. My "little girl" just got married a couple of weeks ago!

If you did APD over the days you want to fly, call scheduling and tell them your situation. If you get the right scheduler they will make it work for you. I would think especially in your situation. They have worked with me in the past concerning this same issue. Congratulations on your new arrival! Surprised the wife is willing to let you fly. My wife would have beat the $hit out of me if I left her around that time!!

Forget that man. You don't want to miss the birth of your child. This isn't the time to be greedy!

IOW.. It would seem that the "red" is now firmly in control is one of the guys that high up can blatantly and willfully blow off something in the policy manual. and last I heard, the uniform was in the policy manual. SO if he DOESN'T say something to one of you guys that is carrying your hat in hand as you walk down the concourse, he has already lost my respect.

First of all, operation Visine happened. You can pretend that it didn't, but we've watched nearly every one of our best guys in training and management get replaced by southies. However, the promotion of Krash (after being removed as part of Visine) also clearly shows that this process might not only be over, but might be reversing. It's good to see.

With regard to the hat, there's a difference between Andy Griffith and Barney Fife. Krash is an Andy Griffith kind of guy where he would want you to wear your hat per policy, but he's not Barney Fife about it. That's what I was trying to tell you. But if you still want to disrespect him for that, I'm sure he won't lose much sleep.

No, we just choose to call out the people who shamelessly shill for a union that has failed us miserably for over a decade. You can continue to call the perfectly democratic process of the DPA "shooting inside the circle" or any other of your many drama queen metaphors, but you just look silly and scared doing so.
