But the spin will be: If you add the "B-fund", better layo hotels, crew-meals and NRT Laundry; then your rates are higher than SWA:D
My opinion is, SWA can keep those 717s. They should no way be involved in our TA. They are a low paying, hard working (3-7 legs a day) machine. And who knows, the minute the next "force-majeure" event occurs-->we will cave in again. Bring on the HEAVIES, Im all for that. Take back all DAL flying, Im all for that too. TEN

We've got them. Typically you can find them attached to these from June through August. Just follow the hose to the greasy end, then look up.

More contract tidbits. We are getting 100 of these. Douglas had them on the drawing board when they finished the MD88's.* Great fuel economy, saves money by being single pilot and obviously this is the Delta spec. The guy has hit hat on:
* "Finished" isn't the right word, since the engineering on the MD88 was more "done" than "completed." We are still working on the cockpit, FMC and autopilot. With the help of IS&S that part of the design might be "finished" in a couple of years. Then we hope to start work on the brakes, wing, elevator, PACKS, flaps, hydraulics, electrical system, auto throttles and trim system. By the time they start retiring the C Series, our MD88's are going to be a hell of an airplane. |
Basically, IF TOMCAT'S NUMBERS ARE TRUE in 2014 a 12 year DAL 737 B flying 737-800s and 900s and once in a while 700s will match what SWA 12 year DAL 737 B does in 2012 flying a fleet of 700s with some new 800s with 100% scope on MD88 like routes.
There are other gives and takes, to each his own. As with everyone else I'll view the TA it in its entirety. |

Yeah doesn't work for me either. I mean there is some great surprise excitement when the backdoor method works, but, it never works anymore.
I think they fixed it. |

Tomcat's numbers came from Alpha, or so I over heard while following air hoses to find MD88's.
