Guys, sorry if it has been discussed before. How many letters of rec are too many? I have 8, four internal, one from a present company check airman and present company instructor, and two retired Delta. I have another friend who is a captain at Delta willing to help also, but I wasn't sure what the magic number was or is. Thanks

My answer would be there really isn't a such thing as a "molecule" of air. A molecule by definition is an electrically-neutral group of two or more atoms held together by chemical bonds. Air is composed of elements in a mix. It's not a molecule of air, it's more so molecules of Nitrogen N2, Oxygen O2, along with very minute amounts of other elements like Carbon Dioxide and Argon. So my answer to the question would be: You can't BE a molecule of air. Next question?

Not sure if there is a "too many" but I think 1 internal rec gives you as much credit in getting the interview call as many more recs.

I would imagine a "bunch" of internal recs could possibly help out in the actual interview but either way I think you are set.

Good luck

I think the venue to mention volunteer work and outside interests is when they start off with, "tell us about your career since high school," or however it's worded. You can work those things in along the way no problem.
Thanks. I'll figure out a way to work it into the interview answers.

I have written a few articles in technical journals, had a couple pretty cool letters for things I had done, etc. When I mentioned them, I would pull out the applicable thing and the guys would pass it around and ask me questions about it. It killed time that they could ask other questions, and gave me a chance to answer questions that I was in control of. If you have stuff like that, bring it and try to get it on the table!

Good luck!
Wow, quite impressive with the technical journals. I have nothing that awe-inspiring but I'll bring a couple things along in case I have the opportunity to work them in! Thanks.
