Sorry if you feel that way sir and not trying to bait just IMHO. I can sum it up by saying scope clause and "similar gage equipment". It appears the majors are legally allowed to use laws to discriminate against regionals when a major buys a regional. Due to the McCaskill Bond amendment your mainline job will be protected but any major can buy a regional and throw out all the pilots if they wish. That has happened already. It may be legal but why is that not discriminatory in nature? Not bitter, just discrimination in any from is still discrimination legal or not. So far it doesn't look like they are going to backfill January. They still very well could backfill February though. So that would add 20 spots for off the streeters. And if Compass only holds back 60 days, then Compass guys will start showing up in March to the tune of 20 per month for 6 months.

Which mainline buying a regional, merging with it, and dumping all the regional pilots are you talking about? Comair doesn't count, because there was never a merger.

Does the holdback start on the day the class was offered or the actual start date of the class? I read somewhere it starts on the start date of the class.
And...based on MikefromMT's spreadsheet, there doesn't appear to be a huge number of SSP's out there. Is there another source he hasn't considered?

If Compass holds them for 60 days, they'll be in class by March. If Compass holds them for 90 days, those guys won't be on property until April. Either way...I agree it's a long, slow road for any off the street hire. Word is...guys interviewing last week were told to expect an August class. I don't see how that's possible.
