Obviously GPA isn't a disqualifier.
How do you even do that??? Sign up, pay tuition, and then never step foot in a classroom again?

I mean you'd think at least one class would have given you at least a .5 for just paying tuition.

I got a 0.0 my second semester. My Dad cut me off at that time and I had to work full time the next 3 years. I did ok though and I was a 2010 hire.

Similar story. Graduated HS, went to college for a year (read: waste of Mom and Dad's money for a year).
11 years later, including military service, several jobs, 2 years of Community College, and a whole lot of maturing, I finally graduate with a decent GPA. (Like Klondike Bear, I did OK)

In the interview, they didn't seem to care that it took me that long. They asked me what I learned from each of the decisions I made, and about the experiences that made me who I was that day. It's evaluating the whole person, not just your screw ups.

The SSP folks arent required to have a degree, so it wouldn't matter if it took more than 5 years.

Fwiw, when AF called to offer class he specifically asked what my mil status would be on Indoc start date. He specifically asked if I would be retired or on terminal. He went on to say going to Indoc in leave and going back to work to out process was a no go. They even had paperwork to sign confirming you didn't have any mil obligations in the next 3-6 months. They've been burned by guard/res guys dropping long term orders right after Indoc and have even terminated a few because they didn't follow adequate notice. Tread lightly.
I've flown with more than one capt/lca that said, "whatever you do, don't lie to delta...if you screw up just own it and come clean". If you want to start your multimillion dollar career by lying to gain a few spots of seniority you are taking a big risk.

Default 717 Atl or NYC

random thought of the day as I tread water in the pool....
I've heard the stories that all the 717 does is 5 legs a day. What percentage of the days are actually 5 leg days? We do quite a few 4 leg days on the 190 at JB, but as you gain seniority there are 2 leg days to bid.
Thanks.

Similar story...some college out of HS...a couple of different ones and it didn't work out. Joined the military. Bottom line...10 years from HS graduation to bachelors degree. Went on and got my masters. Hired at Delta this year. Didn't even question the timeline. Never even came up.
