DAL Poolie Info

Just flew with a training department APD (73N). He says the last two months have been slower, but starting next month they are slammed. Sims are booked wall to wall and they are having a tough time filling them with instructors. Not positive, but thats likely true with most fleets.
Homey don't need no 0300 shows in sim qual....

Delta does not do any sim training back side of the clock! So no 0300 sims. I do however know the 'A' period starts pretty early in the morning. I can't recall the report time for 'A' period. May be 5am? Any one?

"B" period is 0915-1515
"C" period is 1330-1930
"D" period is 1745-2345
"E" period is 2200-0400
1+30 brief, 0+30 debrief, 4+0 in the box.
Contractually, only new hires and LAX 73N pilots can be assigned an E period. If you get an upgrade or requal captain as a training partner, you'll get Bs and Cs. Also, training happens 7 days a week.

I have 18 confirmed that have PM'd me so far and I'm missing 6 or more from July 2nd (3), July 7th (3). I heard from 1 in the July 8th class and his soc # is middle of the road which makes me think I am missing three or more from that group. If this is true for the March class and all of July 8th is going to Delta then my count shows 31 for the class. That sounds like it's about on par with all the other classes. If the 6 I am missing have gone somewhere else then my count would be 25.
Anyone that got an invite for March 7th & 8th class, please feel free to PM your hire date and the last 4 of your soc # and we can all get an idea of where we might sit in class. Also it might be helpful for all of us if you tell me your #1 and #2 choice for airplanes. Sounds like we will all be based in NYC so I don't think bases are going to be an option.
Thanks,

I currently show about 24 invites but I'm missing 3 from July 2nd and 3 from July 7th and most of July 8th so I am not sure if they took other jobs or don't get on APC. I roughly know the Soc # from the three missing in July 2nd but I have not heard from them.

Also, just trying to get some advice since I'm obviously new to this... I've looked at Lakeside Graphics and all but, between the 73N and the Airbus, which would mean quicker category seniority in NYC? Additionally, does anyone know which of those categories flies more out of LGA and/or EWR(both are easier drives for me from upstate)? Thanks!

I know for sure that at least a couple of July 8th CJO folks haven't received invites to March 7th yet. Seems like only 3 of us have received invites.

The 73N does about 80% JFK and 20% LGA... maybe a little less. If you want EWR and LGA, you might consider the 717 first then the M88. The 320 also flies out of EWR and LGA but not as much EWR as the 717.
If you do not want to stay in NYC, the best strategy would be to bid an airplane that is based near you.
FYI... if you work for a Delta Connection carrier and have access to DeltaNet, you can pull up all the bid packages and seniority lists and see for yourself where each aircraft flies and how senior they are.

7ER..75% Probably a line, maybe not, just depends on those senior to you...
73N.. 53% Lineholder, with some control.
320..79% Still on reserve, it's a small category
M88..47% Lineholder, with some control
717..32% Lineholder, with more control, departures have been split almost evenly between EWR/LGA/JFK for the past year, with some variation from month to month. If you like EWR (for driving in) and don't mind early shows, you could/can build a pretty good schedule. Most folks in the category avoid EWR at all costs, because of commutability.
