I was told there are no SSP guys in the March 7th class. I think they are just slowly trickling out the email invites. I know my group on July 1st only has 5 of 10 accepting the offers. One guy has to defer to March 14th and the other 4 have taken other jobs. They should get to at least the July 10th group with the March 7th start date. Give it time, I bet the rest of the invites go out the first of next week.

Holy crap! That's a whopping 40% loss right there. This wait in the pool is gotta be killing DAL management. In the interest of helping Delta empty the pool, I volunteer to go next. Ha! Ha!

I thought I knew what I was doing on that test and had a good game plan. Man, was I ever wrong....when you finally figured out what the rule was, my hand was a blur clicking as fast as I could! De-dum!

Default Delta Pass Travel - Buddy Passes

A slight change of subject. Can anyone provide any information on the availability of buddy passes to new hires?

Thanks

Yep, you don't get buddy passes until you have been there for one year. Then you get 8 per year.

And they're pretty much worthless, unless your friends are VERY flexible on their travel plans.

How would "Pilot Selection" view an internal rec from a new hire?

My guess is they couldn't give 2 poops. I'm sure there are thousands more in the pile.

About half of mine were from guys who were still on probation.

True. But it means they have to go back to square one (hiring) to fill that slot. Going back to square one isn't the hard part, it's the fact that they've lost time, ie, they now don't have a name matched to an airframe.

But then again, they do have all of us in the pool to reach out and grab, so I guess no airframes will go without a pilot to fill a turned down/rejected slot.

OK, I concede: management doesn't care. Nice to know we're so valuable?

I'm sure management knows exactly how much it costs in $$ to interview, hire, and then lose a poolie. That is the limit of their care.
