OK, The negotiating committee told the MEC that neither pay nor profit sharing has been discussed with the company.. ? and you somehow extrapolate the stuff you posted?

I know you have no desire to debate. Just the same stuff that passes in the echo chamber and staunch defense of all things DALPA.
Boring and predictable. Carl I can't imagine a scenario where you might actually support a TA. Talk about predictable. The only part I don't get is your agenda. |

Carl, your idea of debate is overwhelming the audience with your noise. If anyone disagrees with you, they are labeled as part of the surrender early crowd or whatever the insult du jour is.
I have no desire to debate with you. I had my fill 3 years ago. The point of my post was simply that you are constantly railing against a growing number of Delta pilots, and can't seem to grasp that they're/we're not out to get you. Carry on  |

Can we at least agree that no matter what comes out in a TA, you will be crying foul and claiming that DALPA is trying to put one over the pilot group?
But can we at least agree that no matter what the criticism of your beloved DALPA, you'll dutifully somehow work in Black Helicopters or Tin Foil Hats, etc. to describe such ungrateful miscreants?

Spot on...make the mistake of countering one of Carl's emotional outbursts with data and instantly become a surrender monkey, one of many mindless sheep or a backroom shadow MEC member conspiring with management to dupe the benighted yes voting pilot population...it gets tiresome, does it not?

What would be the most refreshing is if we line pilots elected reps that have the courage to turn down this upcoming signed TA and send the shadow MEC back to the drawing board.
Whether you are one of the 10 reps that believe in surrendering at the earliest opportunity, or one of the 9 reps that aren't afraid to follow our process, the one thing all reps should have in common is to not be afraid of the MEC administration when they make reps irrelevant. On another note, it is absolutely incredible that management would be allowed to "brief" our reps in closed session DURING Section 6 negotiations. The only briefing of our reps should be by the negotiators themselves...NEVER management. I've never seen such a weak MEC administration in my life. Carl I don't see the big deal. Our execs just happened to be in the neighborhood and all their schedules were open, so they just dropped in to say hi. Having RA speak to the MEC on the brink of a TA was effective. Just read the council 16 update. We surrender! |

Btw, for those interested the 16 letter is published on the dalpa website under my MEC/LEC and then click 16. If anything it is a broad overview of the past few weeks' events. Nowhere does it indicate that we are surrendering. GMAB  |

See that's the thing. You and I can both read the same piece of paper and somehow you take it as a surrender. Exactly which part gave you that impression?

Nowhere does it indicate that we are surrendering. GMAB  Council 16 Update May 11, 2015 During the week of May 4, your MEC met in regular session in Atlanta and spent a considerable amount of time interacting with the Negotiating Committee regarding Contract 2015. These discussions, as well as an extensive session with Richard Anderson and the Delta senior executives, were all conducted in executive session. As we progress toward a TA, your Council 16 representatives regard the contract survey as our guide, the framework for our future as Delta pilots. While we do not think that we know better than our constituents—we embrace the views reflected in the survey data—you did elect us to know more by virtue of the information to which we have access. The information this week, most often confidential in nature, included briefings from various subject-matter experts, our Pilot Director Ken Rogers, the investment banker Steven Presser who proctored our bankruptcy claim, and Mr. Anderson and his team. A battle plan never survives first contact with the enemy, or as Mike Tyson so eloquently stated, “Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face.” From the first round of negotiations, portions of our battle plan have fallen by the wayside, others have changed dramatically, and some continue to provide for our strategy going forward. When the time comes to bring the TA to you, our brothers and sisters of LAX, we will be in the lounge and on the road to explain our thought processes, clearly outline our decisions, and discuss the information that influenced those decisions made by the MEC. We will not be swayed by emotion or fear, nor will we endeavor to lead by popular opinion. In every section of the contract we have utilized the tools at hand, to include the contract survey, e-mails, phone conversations, and feedback gathered from flying the line. These we synthesized with the company business plan to arrive at the best, most value added direction for our negotiators, and ultimately for the pilots of Delta Air Lines. We are optimistic about reaching an agreement with management that you and the pilots of Delta will embrace, and we are enthusiastic about the progress made thus far. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next council meeting at the Proud Bird Restaurant, 11022 Aviation Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045, on June 11 at 1100. Fraternally, Tim, Dan, and Tony |
