Good debate. Reps speaking passionately on both sides.
Gut feeling from the cheap seats: It's going to pass. Some of the yes votes don't necessarily like it but they feel that they must let the line pilots make the final call. I'm with you Ferd...................VOTE ALREADY!!!!! Denny |

By my count 17 of the 19 voting reps have spoken and indicated which way they plan to vote. Currently sitting at 9 for, 8 against...the actual vote has yet to take place.

Always easier to pass the buck. My faith in this union rests on knowing I have reps that will stand up for the line pilot. I hope that the result reflects the will of their constituents, not the will of the MEC.

Delta Air Lines Inc Stock: Profit Sharing Reduction Helps Offset 15% Increase, Says Credit Suisse
Credit Suisse noted that the fixed increase of 15% by the amendable date is slightly more than it expected, but the profit sharing offset is more significant at this point. With the 20% profit sharing threshold moving to $6 billion for all employees, the firm expects approximately $500 million of potential savings, compared to $2.5 billion of threshold. The firm believes that this will be large enough saving to offset the fixed increase of 15% for pilots, giving extra cost of approximately $400 million. Credit Suisse has math troubles!! Assume Delta makes 6 Billion Old method = 2.5B * 10% + 3.5B * 20% = 950 million for all emploees. New method = 6B * 10% = 600 million for all employees. So, the difference for all employees is 350 million. You figure the pilot share of that is maybe 150 million at the most, but there is no way you can have the savings for just the pilots be more than the total for all employees! |

Any rep pushing a yes vote on this TA needs to be recalled. Including MEC chairman.. They obviously have a different view on what is acceptable compared to the vast majority of the line pilots.

Giving the line pilots the final call is a total COP OUT!

Gut feeling from the cheap seats: It's going to pass. Some of the yes votes don't necessarily like it but they feel that they must let the line pilots make the final call. The insiders working with F&H want to get it to a membership vote because they know some dazzling graphs and some misdirection might get to yes. Just look at what they are doing now (ie censorship and dubious lopsided presentation of the info, etc). Not the way this should operate. |
