Just read this off the MEC Facebook page from a pro TA guy:
"LCA bidders will have to actually earn their pay more, (extremely small group), as far as QOL, ALL our competitors would love our TA...again, not smart to vote no."
So our goal is to give up any good deals left in this profession. Always credit 1 hour for 1 hour or less? Spend more time away from home/family to pay the bills.
Sorry but this seems extremely short sighted. Isn't there already enough gives in this profession. Is it asking too much to keep some good things to counterbalance? Also, what kind of person pushes to give these remaining items away for a small pay raise?!

Agree with this poster from the Delta MEC page:
"If the TA is ratified, the sick leave will "most likely" apply to an additional 1300 or so pilots? A total of around 4000 pilots? That seems pretty substantial to me. And, I'm sorry, but to me it IS worth giving up a 20-21% raise (spread over 4 years). It's not a win-win. Money isn't everything here. In this day and age, privacy is a paramount issue. It's more than a doctor's note being asked for here. It is an invasion of my privacy that the Company has no LEGAL right to (right now). But, since agreeing to sign away your LEGAL right to medical privacy in a collective bargaining agreement doesn't bother you much, I'm guessing you don't worry much about privacy issues like I do. Would you mind if I borrowed your Social Security number and mother's maiden name for just a bit?"
He may want to check those numbers he's been fed from the MEC as a raise. I think it's been fleshed out, the real numbers are considerably lower. His point regarding the medical aspect is still well articulated.

Redo:
So put the Malone letter, SLI Rep letter , CVG FO rep's letters together and you start to get a little better picture:
- E190 deposits already made, you don't have to allow more CR9s to get them.
. - The positive letters from Reps about the TA, in the view of the CVG FO rep, don't match the actual TA language.
. - This TA is really the Delta Connection Emancipation Proclamation from the MEC. No more 900sm restriction on 85% of the flights, free to do hub-to-hub and point-to-point thus no longer required to feed mainline, transferring flying to more profitable 76-seaters that are 51% larger and fly 10% faster to make up for a 2% seat count reduction.
. - JV protection now uses block hour and drops it to a 50% baseline, a metric the company would have been in compliance with the last 4 years whereas with EASKs they were out of compliance.
. - JV language will allow Delta to down gauge our aircraft while JV partners up gauge.
. - Mike Donatelli gets to decide whether we slap Delta livery, logos, etc on a foreign carrier.
. - Pay is not 8633 and 15% over the life of the contact but really 8.26% over three years given inflation eats up the remaining 3%.
. - Removing LCA trips from FOs removes, in ATL717B alone, 135 trips the FOs would have been able to bid on when you consider 45 LCA x 4 trips per month = 180 trips x 85% = 135 trips gone.

If you figure say 10% of Captains are LCA with 4 trips each and 75% of those trips are taken then per every 100 captains in a category you lose about 30 trips (100 x .1 x 4 x .75). So a ER category with 400 pilots would lose about 120 trips.
So given the seniority of lca, especially in the wb categories, you're eliminating probably 30 of the most desired trips or trips at the most desirable time (weekends off, July 4 off, thanksgiving off, Christmas off).
It's just less to bid for as the trips are removed and senior pilots who bid award "any lca trip" are now just going to bid regular senior trips.
Now the number could be higher, what if a domestic category runs 15% lca and 5 trips on average per month? Should be around 56 trips per 100 pilots.
Now say you're a WB fo relatively junior but moving up rather rapidly. Not only do you lose bidding power but get ready for all the senior NB FOs to abandon 88, 717, 320 and jump up to ER, 330, 777.
But somehow with nearly 6000 FOs it magically only hurts 150 pilots. Why are we being asked to buy off on a TA that hurts anyone with 5 or 6B PTIX in a year.
So basically we are going to eliminate 30-50 mostly senior trips per 100 pilots, cause a lot of movement.

So guys that historically use Reserve to temper horrible schedules at an understaffed airline to be with their families are now out of luck? What about those times scheduling pounded you with the suckiest schedule imaginable but you didn't get anything extra for it.
