We are in a position of strength because, among other things, RA doesn't want to answer the mail from Wall Street re: huge profit sharing payouts. He realistically can't cut any other group's until he cuts ours. We are the cornerstone.

We have a problem. In the past, you hardly ever meet a YES voter. There are none, until the vote is counted. These forums slam yes voters, and no mistake, there are 51%. They're sitting next to you, the chances are more than half the pilots you fly with will end up voting yes.

We are living in historic times, never has Delta made this much money, paid dividends or dreamed of buying back stock. Keep the message simple. Because when the company isn't doing this well, we all know they'll be demanding 40% of your pay rates and everything else they can grab. They'll shop for the best judge they can find to order it, they'll hire the best law firm to do their dirty work. This is our time to take back what was stolen under the darkness of bankruptcy.

 

True, but that stance has a ring of paranoia to it. I'm fine with converting the profit sharing, it just shouldn't be in conjunction with and touted as a payraise.

This is where Donatelli really damages his credibility. His own contract comparison shows us not leading the industry in any section. Yet he touts this as the most valuable contract in history. It makes you understand what a TOTAL waste of time it is to attend a road show. The purpose of them is not to inform, the purpose is to mislead.

Yup. We need the middle 20 percent to kill this thing. Please be respectful because you don't want them voting yes just because they don't like you. Arm yourself with facts and stick to the ones you know to make a convincing argument. Our tribal leaders are selling Manhattan for a few sea shells.

That's just a silly argument. Your boys will hire "professional" hired guns that have no idea what is involved in our day to day life. Even when you explain it to them, they still do not know what it is actually like to live our lives. But then again, they are so much smarter than the average pilot I guess they would get instantly. Our guys hire consultants that understand legal jargon and ramifications and how contractual language works. Your guys have no skin in the game because all they would be is mercenaries, and once you pay them, they have not to endure one second of the contract they negotiate.

I prefer the way it's done now. Of course your perspective is that our negotiators are blithering idiots and they sell us down the river for some bizarre reason, (even though THEY live under this contract just like you and I do) and nothing they do would satisfy your bloodlust for dALPA's demise anyway, so why do I even bother?
