just not sure what else could do ASE. the 717 has better thrust/weight than a -900 or a 175 but not quite as good as a -700. if OO parks all their DL 700s I think the 717 is the next best plane. might work with a payload restriction.

or... just stop complaining about people having different desires than your own. Just because someone likes to have a microwave and you don’t, doesn’t make you right and them wrong. You sound like the type of person that votes left...

In the Future Air Service Planning Study for the Aspen Pitkin County Airport published in 2014, it was already determined that the 717 does not meet the requirements for the ASE airport.

I think the microwave and fridge argument would be best settled by airline crews being put up at a campground and the company provides the camping gear. You can build your own fire or pack your own cooler and end the petty arguments.

“Welcome to the KOA Montreal. Captain, you’ll be in snow cave #3, that’s the secluded one just over there with the nice view of the hillside. FO, you’ll be in cave #68, that’s the one downwind of the latrine, about 1/4 mile along the pathway. Cold showers are available 1/2mile in the other direction. We know your report time is 510am, but complimentary hot cocoa starts at 7am anyway. Odd-numbered snow caves come with an extension cord and a microwave. Since it’s February, the entire campground is a freezer. We don’t give flight crews rewards points. Enjoy your stay.”

what is so wrong with the hotel providing refrigerators and at least 1 microwave for crew use? I for one enjoy bringing food from home for multiple reasons. If someone doesn’t need or want them just simply don’t use them. You may want a pub nearby so you can enjoy a beer after you check in. That’s simply not important to me, and I’m not going to belittle you because you simply have different desires than I do.

Or you can just grab another $2 adjunct lager and a greaseball of a burger and die at 60, cheese oozing from your veins, cursing the DGI’s lack of effectiveness.

And seriously, don’t give them any ideas, talking about campgrounds...

There is pushback from an advocacy group, but the goal is to widen the runway and displace it to move it away from the taxiway, allowing aircraft with wider wingspans. This would allow A319, A220, and the 737-700 to possibly make it into Aspen, (in addition to the G650). They have already determined that the A220 would have the performance to do it, and possibly the A319 and 737.
