I dont think this is true proggression
You're joking right? Please tell me you didn't honestly post a response like this on a forum about career progression to an airline that has excruciatingly high standards of its pilot candidates...and expect to be taken seriously.

Default I think

It's a sign of frustration is all. As soon as the information came out an immediate email was sent saying hold the phone! Many, I think, were hoping and expecting, more. In other words if AA has flows with THREE wholly owned, why can't we have just one?

It is a carrot but with all the hiring that will take place at all the other carriers, it's a long time to wait no???. 18-03 went senior. No more new hires it looks like, will get the left seat even on the 200. That too was a big carrot. All the growth from 2015-2018 will slow down for a while. It will take more like 1.5 + years to upgrade + 1.5 to wait for the DGI. Three years and you have no guarantee. That is I think what he is saying.

The wording in the details will be important. Like what happens to all the people whom have been here for like 20 years. How many shots will you get and how long will it take? Etc etc etc...

The fact is-American has set the industry standard with regard to career progression.

Is everything perfect at their wholly-owned regionals? Heck no. But with regards to career progression, they are turning their regionals into what they should have always been; a stepping stone to a major. The flow times will eventually come down and that will be the place to be. Folks will vote with their feet.

I totally get DL wanting to have higher standards. After all, last year American did crash a whole lot of planes-with every single accident being attributed to pilots who had flowed up from their regionals.

May I suggest you spell and grammar check your Delta App before you publish it? I think they’re looking for a bit more attention to detail than this...

Default Facetious

Is the word of the day. As to the standards, the individual that had the infamous "night in the forest" with an F/A years ago, is at the D.

I do not think the majors will be able to be too picky in a few years. I also think if the contract passes at B6, or if it gets sweetened, the flood gates will open.

I really hate to say this but you might be better off on the outside than in. Silly as that may sound but a pilot at the D told me that too.

If you were criticizing him for spelling and grammar, I'd be on board. His message is spot on. We should not be subject to the same full battery as anyone off the street since we are already at a wholly owned company flying Delta airplanes and Delta passengers. Our time and track records here should count for something. Don't even think about giving me that BS about getting the interview is the hardest part. By the time we are eligible for the DGI, we have already proven ourselves in some capacity.

All the American crashes attributed to wholly-owned pilot flows we're extensively covered on FOX news.

Until Delta HR does your hiring, you should be subject to the same standards as else. Since you've been doing things the Delta way every day, it should be an easy interview.

Why you guys keep justifying our guys not having a better path to Delta, I'll never know. Keep making excuses for the company and fighting against us. Your true colors are showing through.

Not a single pilot here should be advocating for the company.
