True or false:
Anyone accepting a job at Endeavor from this point forward is playing an active role lowering Delta's motivation to bring all outsourced flying in-house.

We had several neighbors on our party line. You were only supposed to answer when "your ring" sounded (for example, 2 short + 1 long), but nosy people would listen in. One very long ring meant "everybody answer, somebody needs help" -- maybe a fire or something like that.

I don't know the history, but was Comair hiring at the time? I can understand you being upset if these furloughs were being passed over for new hires, but was that the case or would Comair have had to furlough junior guys to make room? Was there any flow back agreement? Honest question, I don't know the answer.
If not, why would you have anymore importance than a junior Comair FO? Just because they contract for Delta, doesn't make them the same company. You or any other furloughee are not entitled to a job at Comair anymore than a Comair guy, or now Endeavor guy, is at Delta. I think that's where people have an issue with your attitude. That and the whole "regional guys stole my job."
Like somebody else said, if you focused on bringing the regional flying in house, you'd get a nice little seniority bump and furlough protection. Maybe even an upgrade on a crj900? That's what we all want, jobs at mainline, not bickering between two pilot groups who want the same thing, but blame each other for their plight. Us regional pukes are essentially powerless, anytime improvements are sought, our flying can be stripped away and our jobs transfered to the next cheapest operator. We all want out as soon as possible. You mainline guys hold all the power and are the only ones who can enact positive change.

As far as Comair..there wasnt any flow back and Comair hired 60/mo as DL furloughed almost the same amount. When DL bought Comair, several senior Comair captains pushed for DOH integration.. DL pilots balked at that and we wound up with the rejected DL furougjees and the RJDC. When the DL MEC approached Comair to let DL furloughees INTERVIEW and start at the bottom in the RIGHT seat in exchange for preferential hiring at DL when the smoke cleared. The Comair MEC rejected our offer and that started the "class warfare"..so be it.
I agree that it's up to mainline..but I don't think the company or the union wants to risk SLI lawsuits after a staple. I was initially against the "flow and SSP", but isn't that effectively getting to the same end result of ALL flying under one banner? Why is it such a slap in the face for a EtD new hire to get interviewed by DL at the beginning of his/her career and current 9E pilots do it just before coming over to mainline? They won't be at DL before any current 9E pilots!
As far as my "attitude"..maybe it's very similar to the sentiments Envoy or RAH pilots have towards PSA or whoever else voted to undercut their rates and fly big shiny jets. RJ's replaced us, now other RJ's are gonna replace them. I don't see you guys bashing them..what's the difference? What if DL LCA's we're looking for former Comair pilots just to bust them once they got on with DL?
Bottom line..DL pilots don't look "down" on RJ guys..we just know that you replaced us for more than a decade. Now you get flow and SSP and somehow DL is screwing you again..

Right back atcha, ace..nobody gave me anything either..especially a preferred interview at Delta.
I'll see your pizza delivery with washing dishes at a diner when I was 12. Worked plenty, and I'll save you any military anecdotes about working on a ship if you'll save me your "working class hero" sob story, brother.
Wow! Some people had it REALLY tough
... when I grew up we dialed the telephone and talked into a receiver that was attached to the wall!
...we never had bicycle helmets, knee or shoulder pads. We built cool ramps and skinned our knees.
…we didn’t have carseats or use seatbelts. We often rode in the back of pickup trucks.
…we watched cartoons, (in B&W), on Saturday mornings only, because that’s the only time cartoons were on TV. And you had to get up off the couch to turn the dial on the TV when you wanted to change channnels. We had three channels – and one TV. The national anthem played at midnight when all the stations went off the air. If you weren’t home to watch your favorite TV show you missed out, because you didn’t have any way to record it.
…you had to rent a VCR when you rented a movie -VHS or Beta.
…it took an hour to bake a potato -in the oven.

They already did it to mainline pilots..using YOU to replace us. Where have you been for the last decade? Oh yeah, in the LEFT seat of an RJ flying OUR passengers to OUR cities and OUR gates. YOU undercut mainline jobs, YOU happily upgraded while mainline pilots were displaced and furloughed..where was the outrage then?? How about Comair giving the middle finger to DL furloughees who just wanted to swing gear and support their families. Lost pensions, 50% pay cuts, BK and mergers, it's already happened to mainline pilots..and we always had a myriad of RJ pilots ready to REPLACE us at a moments notice.
In return for fNWA pilots to flow BACK to the left seat of an Airlink RJ, DL is honoring the pre-merger fNWA agreement for CZ and SSP flows. How many other airlines would do that? How many fNWA pilots actually displaced into the left seat of an RJ? No mainline Capts were pay protected when they got displaced back to the right seat. Now DL offers EtD, effective only AFTER all the rest of you get a chance to sit in the left seat and get your shot at an SSP interview..and you still spit in DL's face as you whine about having to actually interview for a job at a company you evidently despise. Very well then, do us all a favor and take all that TMEL somewhere else. I'm sure there are lots of DL mainline FO's who would love to replace you in the left seat.
I've been told that it's time to turn the page on my furlough, but this whining from guys who replaced me and all this tough talk is so hypocritical it makes me sick. Next time you fly take a look in back and see how many pax have a ticket on YOUR airline, then take a look at your logbook and fill out your app to anywhere else but here.

DL mainline rate for a 12 yr EMB-190/CRJ-900 Capt as of 1/15..139.42/hr.
12yr FO rates:
A320..142.96
M88....140.40
717.....133.30
I only posted 12 yr rates cause we're all 14+ yrs in the right seat. DL pilots hired 99-00 were just able to hold CAPT in NYC as of last month.
Yes..15 yr NB FO's would love to be a CRJ CAPT some day..especially if they wouldn't have to commute to NYC from a closed base or are looking at 20+ years in the right seat at a senior base.
I saw some poster's mention how "lifers" make over 120k/yr and have an awesome schedule. Is that true?
How's that for invalidation?
