I've been around the block enough that, if I were a betting man, I'd put money on the moronic move vs the logical one in this industry. In general, nothing to do with 200 bases.

Well that base opened last summer, so if it closed by summer or winter this year, it's a year or a year and a half. Sounds about right for a temporary band-aid

They also spent millions refurbishing all the XJ Saabs only to send them to the desert right after, along with many other nonsensical crap through the years. You'd have to be a moron to think that management wouldn't do something like close a base right after opening it.

Hah! I heard that one before they opened the NY 200 base. Obviously they don't feel too strongly about it, or they wouldn't have moved all the 200s there.
