I mean if someone who lives in DFW wants to pick up someone’s trip so they can get to work and make extra cash, why can’t that be allowed? Thanks for you input

Unless something has changed recently it can be done via trade on flica. I had a friend picked up a trip for me at the end of day 3 and finish. He lived in the city where it was beginning (CVG). I think I just listed the segments to trade away and he picked them up. I don't recall talking to scheduling but maybe we did?

That policy extends to a call in honest. If you want to rejoin your trip out of base they will refuse unless you are at the aircraft.
FYI pilots can't do jetbridge trades. Only flight attendants. Been there, done that, got the no. You need 24 hours notice to get that approved. But yes it is allowed provided that pilot doesn't have something else on the schedule and provided it won't mess with rest rules.

Pilots can trade last minute too (not sure this qualifies as a jetbridge trade, but...) Picked up an out-and-back for another pilot once. His CA called to see if I could do it, I said yes, and as I dressed and headed to the airport, he called CS to get it approved. They called me to verify I was good with it, and it happened. He got to go home early as needed, and the flight went off without a problem.

Well, your post to me didn't quite make me laugh, but you are right, everyone has different wants/needs. I chalked it up to you having a bad day. Or jealousy because you don't have an online BF? Hoping the former.

If you seriously think I'm comparing travel companions to pay rates then you're #1 missing the point and #2 extremely dense. That being said, our travel benny's are with no question dead last when compared to the other WO's. That's not debatable.

You can do the trade. I was told to check the special handling box and explain otherwise it would be denied

Thanks for the info! I did do the trade via Flica, but it was denied for “being in the wrong folder” which it wasn’t. Then when I called to address it, they said “oh well you can’t trade and start out of base. My supervisor said so.” So guess I’ll just call again!

It's like a big smoke and mirrors routine, they have us wrapped around the axle talking about 75 or 83 hours, and in the end they are just setting us up to be happy with the same pay over the next however many years, 5?
I call "B.S."
I know there are hopes of some kind of flow or whatever, but what if they are just pushing another big stinking turd like the SSP?

Personally I've been only getting 9-10 days off a month trying to credit 100 hours a month so I can support my family. I encourage everyone to get out there calculator and just see how much your gonna have to work to bring home a better paycheck, even with the "their" best case scenario of rolling the bonus in at $25.55/hr.
As a guy on reserve, who hasn’t flown the entire month of September (yay), I did the quick math of my hourly pay rate for me to sit in a crash pad, away from home. With 11 days off, and factoring in the 24 hours each day I’m away from home, I made about $6.50 an hour.

Yeah, I know that’s playing with the numbers a bit, but...I’m away from the fam to sit on reserve (why do we need 12 people on reserve again?j, so I consider that part of the job.

If you figure that P1 reserve is 14 hours and you only get paid for 4, that makes your reserve pay less than $10 an hour.
