OAL use 10,000 MSL for the chime, just curious as to why we choose to be different. Haven’t really paid attention when on DL JS, but maybe it’s “the Delta way”.
We do it at 10,000 afe. So probably why you switched to that. We go into many high alt places and if you chime at msl it gives the fa's a very short amount of time to prepare for landing.

Correct. 18,000 down, 10,000 on the way up. MSL. You know, because you can see that in the cockpit.

Didn’t it used to be based on time at one of the previous three pieces, pre-merger? Seems I have heard someone mention that.

If it’s for FA timing, it should be based on time to landing. If it’s for sterile cockpit, then it should be MSL, unless in higher terrain, then AFE.

Merry Christmas all at endeavor.

Yes a million years ago pinnacle wanted you to chime the FA 3-5 outside the marker. No idea why. Pinnacle was always launching rockets while the rest of us flew airplanes. The excuse was some made up FA timing thing. The truth was no one could stop making crap up to scare pilots into failing the next sim ride because they missed an abscure book reference or new made up tech-cedure.

Anyway, cya next year.

That’s not quite how it was. You still have the 10k chime, then the double chime just outside FAF

Sorry to break up the discussion, and thanks for the replies to my post way back. A few more questions as a prospective 121 transfer. How are the benefits and who can you enroll? Merry Christmas all.

THIS!!!!

No coaching can replace the actual learning experience gained from just doing it raw... I mean (autopilot off).

The anxiety, and fears of a CA that is taken out on FO’s makes for a horrible 3-4day experience, and negative energy transfer to the FO. Creates higher risks for both new and experienced FOs.

The mishaps & issues some Captains bring upon themselves because of personality is startling! Relax set a great atmosphere makes both of you better and more alert and it increases mental performance!

I have to add that it’s ok to understand this concept CA’s.... Some FO’s do hand fly better than you, and it’s ok. Some do much better landings than you, and it’s ok. FO’s tend to pick up really good standards and habits from flying with various good CA’s out there. Do both! Be able to Do both! Don’t be a 1 trick Pony! Push yourself to be better each RNAV DP/STAR/APP/LANDING FLARE.

At ENVOY CR7 most hand fly RNAV DP’s on the Line. Hardly see any CA or FO requesting A/P on at 600’. Even at ATL... I don’t see the big deal. Lateral is easy! I don’t see why some CA’s are spazzing out at your outfit. Its not rocket science. FD does a great job! Issues I hear about is Yoke Hand and Throttle Hand coordination to level off at an early altitude if needed by new FO’s flying lightly loaded CR7/9 With MAX THRUST T/O, CR7 is a rocketship if lightly loaded, monitor V/S, plan on reducing pwr to climb detent then cruise speed early to also maintain and accelerate to 250kts. RNAV lateral DP fears and anxiety? Kind of funny.

What’s the big deal CA’s??? Brief the hand flown RNAV DP in detail if you must. Helping the FO become better than you does not come by micro-managing, or A/P every evolution.

They're average.

I think the benefits site is open for anyone to look at, either google it or if that doesn't work send me a PM and I'll send you the link.

Anyone have the numbers on monthly hire by month over the last half of 2017? I'd like to know to compare it over the next few months to see if there's an increase in hires.

I'm sure there will be more applications based on the pay changes alone.

Sorry, realized I didn’t say travel benefits. That’s what I’m looking for info on. Thanks.
