Default Reality gross pay Y1 to Y2

Realistic year 1 gross salary in 2019 - 2020

So given this:

"First year First Officers earn between $61,000-72,000; highest pilot hourly rates in regional industry ($50.66/hr 2019, $51.42/hr 2020)"

What can I expect to see as true year 1 and 2 GROSS pay?

Set me straight 😀

That's about right.. It's right around 60K and can be more if you pick up OT..

$50.66 x 75 x 12 months, then plus $10,000... that's the minimum for year 1 and the amount for what you should budget. It works out to about $55,500. Like they say, that rate goes up to $51.42 on 1/1.

There are opportunities to gross more during training (depending on when your classes/sessions fall), if you pick up during reserve, or if you happen to land a line sooner.

Year 2 is totally dependent on equipment, line status, and how much extra you want to work. In 2021, second year FO rates will be $59.26 on the 200 and $61.57 on the 900.

Senior FOs getting lots of trips bought and picking up shouldn't be dropping below 140 credit hrs a month with 16 off. You'll probably not get that senior. 100 credit hours and 15 off (start with 18 off and pickup) should be pretty normal for ya. Assuming NYC and 900. If the FOs get short over summer and you love to work 120 hours ain't hard and 160 isn't impossible especially if you push everything together and the trip ends on bad wx day in NYC. 25.I.10 in your contract ain't just a lotto ticket, it's a way of life

Unfortunately, industry standard now in those job postings is to include per diem. And if you're rah you include the value of your health insurance lol.

According to the union, the average credit per month for a pilot here works out to about 83 hours. It's virtually impossible to credit only 900 hours per year (75x12). With LMS credit, bonuses, and at least one pickup you'll be over that. I would say 80 hours per month for a new FO is very reasonable. Some clear 100 a month on reserve because they know how to work the system and don't mind the grind.

Include the obligatory 2k-3k for per diem and you'll be in that 60-70 range.

Perspective though. I made more as a year 3 FO than I do so a captain because of the schedule flexibility and pickups.

I heard they’re picking up a contract with Air France to open up a Paris base on the CRJ-1000. Could be an easier commute for the MSP guys than Atlanta or Detroit!

I'd be all over that except the CRJ-1000 is the CL-66 and thus a different type, even though it's less different than the CRJ 100 to the 900 is a 900 to the 1000. Or hell let's really stink it up, the DC9 to the B717 or the 737-100 to the Max (you pic the version) Yea that was a joke for those that can't figure it out
