Any "Latest & Greatest" about Endeavor?
#8691
I am looking towards the future. The people who were here in the past 10 or more years deserve better pay and career progression if they choose to move on. Yes things were hard. 6 years with a sub par 1999 contract, pilots sleeping in their cars and collecting food stamps. The industry was stagnant for years and the company knew that. Finally getting a decent contact and having it taking away in bankruptcy due to the high costs of merging the three companies. Oh yes taking concessions and 401 hits and soft money hits and on and on.
Oh sorry I forgot, you weren't here for that. How is that for an honest answer to your honest question.

In addition, the reason I cited this crash as an XJ bird is for those who would be interested to know. Nothing more. Guuuuaaaard

Almost at the 12 year mark and so far I've sat RR 5 times this month in Minnie. I probably would've had to do all 10 if I worked the whole month. But I was on vacation the first half of the month. I'm wondering if it would be worth talking to the union in regards to the 2 year seat lock to bid down to the 200? That's the only thing that's keeping me from switching seats. I'm not sure if this dual quall rumor has any traction, but that would probably solve the problem also

We can discuss any topic we choose. If you don't think this is a good topic, or any crash for that matter, then I recommend you start. From each crash we stand to gain lots of what-to-lookout-fors. Any crash we study serves to enhance our safety. Consider that next time you turn on your anti-ice without keeping the other pilot informed or execute a modification without confirming. Off my soap box now.

Nice touch with the "roll eyes". I've said it before and I'll say it again, and maybe you'll hear me this time. I don't care personally. I'm 57 years old and I made the decision not to participate in the SSP for my own personal reasons. Had it been 5 years earlier I would've jumped at the chance, and I'd like to feel it would've turned out well for me. Again, I say it was my choice so there is no feeling of entitlement here. In fact I've always had to work very hard for everything I've gotten in life. I'm quite confident if you'd go backwards in this thread you'd see my post regarding these sentiments. But no, it's like you have an alarm on your phone that goes off whenever the word flow comes up, and suddenly you're here. There's a few of you that become very defensive about it. In some ways more so than those in control of the process. I'm just saying that I've talked to many of your peers about this topic and most are indifferent to the subject. Quite often it goes onto one of Comair. Which in my mind is apples to oranges. So call it whatever you want. Projecting I think you said. But maybe it's time to ask yourself why you're so passionate on this subject?
If anything, if they did adopt a flow, it would probably come with a flow down like the Compass one did, which would provide not only career protections for those near the bottom of the DL list, but also a strong incentive not to furlough to begin with. Its thought by many that the CPZ flow(down) prevented furloughs not that long ago. I don't think they would have done it anyway for other reasons, but I know they did cost it out and that alone turned a maybe into a no.
I'm glad DL is taking a LOT of Endeavor pilots. 700 already in the short period of time we've been hiring, while only 70 have gone elsewhere is a tremendous success from every perspective and an excellent opportunity for those there. I also have no doubt that some of those turned down would have made great additions at DL as well. A flow would prevent those cases, but inherit other cases where they'd be forced to take the very few that they absolutely don't want, and that is the reason, from their perspective, that there isn't going to be a flow.
Hopefully the strong and aggressive preferential hiring of Endeavor pilots at DL continues, as well as the pay increases, etc.
Now speaking about subject matter passion, why are you so vested in this issue, especially if you have no dog in the fight as you've said?
