I've got the time (at least 121.436 time) and decided that commuting to NYC for reserve isn't in the cards for me. Personally, I'd like to see a class or two of street captains to sit perpetual NYC 200 reserve...

Jeez, you gotta start the turn anyway, just keep it going. Then at the appropriate time make another turn to 40 heading. It's not that hard. I think people are making more out of this than need be. As mentioned just brief it so the other guy is on the same page. I feel like it's better to hand fly this sid at least until you're on a 40 heading. The auto pilot is pretty sluggish in starting the turn

Most junior CA line holder in JFK is 1 Feb 15 hire. Most junior RSV CA in JFK is a 25 Apr 16 hire, just 8 lines down. Not sure how to equate that to a DEC in JFK today, but yeah, they would be on RSV for a very long time, even if no one jumped in front of them, which of course they would.

Typically yes. Depends on destination and weather. If an alternate is required the -200 can run into weight issues being full. If there's a couple kids and not many bags that helps.

1:25 flight, and good weather all around. Guess I'll roll the dice and give it a try.
Thanks again
