Anybody using Uber out in NYC? Last time I was based there, I never used them, but my crashpad mates said it was good. The reason I ask is I've seen the controversy Uber had caused with the local cabbies and I wondered how things were going since. Thanks.

I've used the carpool feature which makes it much cheaper, as long as you don't mind sharing the ride.

I use it anytime I'm in NYC. They pick up at specific locations at LGA, rate is pretty much known in advance. I'll send for a car once I'm off the aircraft and usually don't have to wait too long, there's almost always cars in the area waiting- just depends on terminal traffic.

Keep in mind uber doesn't have flat rates. You're better off using kew runner or that runner limo group. Kew cabs even dropped their price to compete. You want the flat rate.

For airport to airport, designated services are probably way cheaper.
I use uber to get into Brooklyn, rather than deal with a taxi driver who doesn't know where he's going or the awful transport system at the airport.
