Yeah I asked in real life, unless I was fed some bad info.
When republic got their raises by the time I was a new hire all the lifers and people on the fence about leaving stayed because their contract got so good and I don’t blame them. But because of that, it creates stagnation. And I am trying to get to a major, not stick around for the regionals.

The upgrade time into the 175 at Envoy is similar. You'll get upgraded but it'll be onto the 145 unless you take your time. And even then if you can hold it. If you asked this question in July, about a year and a half was the time. Then in September, it went back up to 2 years. You'll be guaranteed 175 if you go to Republic. Crap shoot here.

That stagnation of the flow is about what it will be indefinitely until they realize the outside attrition is costing them more than increasing the flow.

how much does it cost envoy for outside attrition versus flow. you leaving either from flow or another job elsewhere. outside attrition keeps the flow down in the amount of years to flow. the cost is about equal, so you have no leverage to increase flow unless you work for less.

only if no one is available to fill the seat and not even then.

But maybe what they want is to take from other regionals. But no airline is going to hire away enough from other regionals to put them out of business. So in that case the flow really is just a sham. Of course most of us know that.
