Default Class Drop List

What are the odds that future classes start to get the 145 again? (Thinking of going there, but do not want to get the 145 since that would exclude the possibility of getting MIA)

Yup definitely not growing, just shuffling resources around and reducing the flying to match staffing proportionally in order to eliminate the 300% premium as much as possible.

That being said, in two years, (or less) this hiring wave will be subsiding. I don’t think it will be an issue, especially for those just now getting hired at the regional level. Moving to a LCC/ULLC ASAP as opposed to staying at a regional will probably be more advantageous move anyway.

I've been hired by Endeavor with a June class start date. However, I'm not sure that I'll actually be based in Atlanta even though I live there. Which was why I was asking about Envoy. I'm also firing off applications to the LCC, so we'll see what happens. Figured if there was a delay with Endeavor or something Envoy would be a good second choice given the family I have in Chicago that I could stay with.

If Envoy is a second choice for that reason, it sounds like an option that works for you. But Endeavor and a commute for a period definitely beats knowing you will have to commute the entire time at Envoy (or any place else).

No new planes until late in the year (only 3 new 175s) and one additional 170 already on property that should be on line during summer.

Any physical movement of planes from one base to the other is pretty transparent. The only thing one really sees is the number of lines in a given base.

There are no displacements OFF of any aircraft. There are likely to be some displacements from FO to CA, but that is not specifically related to which airframe, it will solely be based on who has the lowest seniority with eligible hours when the bid is run.

Without an actual displacement, upgrades could come from either plane and any base. Overall management of what is actually reduced won’t be known until the bid is run either as the company can choose to backfill vacancies or not as they happen during the bid.
Ok, that's kinda what I figured. I thought I might have missed some major change since he said those two bases were growing.

You should be able to get ATL in relatively short order at 9E as an FO. Captain is a different story, but Sprontier has a base there by the time that you're ready to upgrade.

The Sprontier merger, as any merger, will probably give a lot of people some nasty disappointments from what they were expecting.

That said, yes, FOs can hold even the senior bases at EDV in less than a year. EDV is bleeding pilots and they aren't even going to Delta. So if you want to be based at ATL, go to EDV and even if you have to make it through one of the other bases for a month or two, it will work out if you plan to live in Atlanta.

Why subside in two years? I thought the wave of age-65 retirements is supposed to continue for a few years?

This was my thought process as well. The retirements are rising every year to a peak around 2026-2028.
