Holy crap you just figured it out, they'll deny us pay/QoL improvements until enough people leave that flow becomes 5.5 years for new hires..

I know that. I was just pointing out that someone in that sub 5-year group will not see much movement from the top, it's way faster at the bottom (but unlikely will ever reach 5.5 years).

My flow time has dropped 6 months in under a year. From 8.8 to 8.2 years. At the end, it'll probably end up being somewhere in the low 7's. Someone hired today, it's a little bit longer, maybe high 7/low 8 years.

If sitting stand by, and you get a next day assignment (trip, not rap or sb), are you released after confirmation?

Or am I thinking of something else?

No. You’re not.

You’re thinking of if you’re on a RAP. You are released from all RAP upon confirmation of any next day standby or flight assignment (NOT a next day RAP assignment). CBA Q&A 12-13 describes this pretty well.

But are you asking if you are released from the CURRENT day, or next day RAP? Your HI 3 would show you are released to rest if there was conflict with completing the current day RAP or SB. But just because you confirm something next day doesn’t immediately release you from current day.

Also you have to agree to be released early from you current day assignment. CS will try to argue otherwise.

Keep that in mind if they put something on you for the following day you don’t want, and it requires you to be released early in order to get required rest.

Not true.

See the difference between 12.B.5 and 12.B.6

The "consents to an early release" only applies to next day RAP, not trip sequence.

CP is not pay protected.

Missing a flight when you were on an A pass from company is. My comment was for guys going to NY with The benefits of free hotels and positive space passes.

Any recent intel on how these NY A passes are working out? I remember hearing at one point that it was a pain to actually get them issued.

A12 is not pay protected. It’s just a higher status non rev listing. If you’re not A1D then you have to abide by the commuter policy. NY hires get A12 passes.
