Yeah sure, flow and pay coming... whatever! Others are hiring
Cheers and good luck everyone!
The first of three windows to apply for an Alaska Airlines pilot role is now open! This same job will post for a week at the beginning of July, August, and October -- so if you’re not ready until fall, you’ll still have an opportunity to submit an application. It's important to remember that this will be the same job posting, so you’ll only need to submit your application once, and you won’t be able to update it. So if you’re still building hours, waiting until October may be a great option.
The dates when you may submit your application at https://alaskaair.jobs are:
• July 1–8, 2019
• July 29–August 5, 2019
• October 1–8, 2019

Next time someone post something you don’t think is right you might want to read the contract and/or ask them where it is in the contract. Then you won’t spread misinformation to people on here. So the NY LOA spells it out that the A passes are subject to 15 C 4 rules. If you look in 15 C 4 d it spells it out you can’t lose pay or be punished.

So listen. A12 is NOT a guaranteed seat of you check on to late and the “E” seats are gone. Because it is not a guaranteed seat you must leave yourself 2 flight options as per the Good Faith Commuter Policy.
See, I do read the contract and have experience with this exact situation. Leave yourself 2 flight options and you won’t have a problem.

15.C.4.c “A pilot may make travel arrangements at his own expense....READ THIS PART THAT YOU DIDNT QUOTE ....If doing so, he will remain eligible for coverage under the Good Faith Commuting Policy in Section 11.T”

Jump seating/OAL deals with subsection c.
As long as you use your A passes to get to and from NY you are covered by d and PAY PROTECTED If you live somewhere else that doesn’t have AA/eagle flights and you have to use jumpy seating to get to work then you are subject to subsection c — the commuter policy. Makes sense? If you are still confused then contact the union and they will help set you straight.

1. Ignorant to the reality of what they are signing up for and simply don’t do the research.
2. Those that have already been in the pipeline and it would be financially unrealistic to bail out. This would be the RTP/Cadet people mostly.
3. Those that Envoy really is the best choice. There are not many that I imagine would fit into this but you never know.

I’m convinced there are three types coming here.
1. Ignorant to the reality of what they are signing up for and simply don’t do the research.

As they say, I have done (some) research and it seems like ENY could be the one perhaps after the AIP...but I say that carefully because I know it can be disrespectful to act like I am sitting and waiting on better pay etc (earned on someone elses backs) before I jump. AT the same time....jumping in right now has its own competing implications. The good news is that I have time, as I have said.
Being able to upgrade quick and end up in DFW (eventually) even if on reserve, is whats big to me. ENY wins that category over SKW, who would be likely 2 or so years waiting on an upgrade.
