Their are other companies already hiring again. Seniority is everything. You may have a horse in the race already as a Envoy cadet, but you’ll probably get to the finish line sooner somewhere else.

I would definitely encourage anyone at their mins to apply to the companies that are hiring, but that being said if they already have a CJO here, it’s probably not going to be that much longer until we are in a position to run new hire classes again. Especially now that lockdown states are beginning to open up and remove their travel quarantines.

I’m not a total doom and gloom guy, but don’t hold your breath. Take what’s available because it’s not just the states opening but international and business travel that has to pick up for the numbers to go up substantially.

Right and I think that will likely be the case around Q4 however, the airline isn't going to wait until that happens to bring on CJO's all hiring realistically needs to be done in advance of any return to demand in travel or the company wont be able to compete. Hence why endeavor is hiring 400+ and why PSA began bringing on higher number of CJO's when compared to those who left the company. I don't see us hiring off the street until at least the fall but, but poolies and Cadets may find themselves in a class this summer, just based on the trends I'm seeing. I'm not in recruitment, but would be interesting to get a take from someone who is, because surly they have some kind of plan.

You're right, that’s what SHOULD happen, but
I’m sorry, you’re making two terrible assumptions about Envoy. They will be proactive and have a plan. Envoy has never been industry leading in those areas.

I see Clueless Joe just signed it into law.

This is sadly accurate. Pretty reactionary on most things.

AA moved them out of MIA partly because Delta was taking advantage of the RAH base there and expanding in MIA with the Latam deal. AA was fighting back Delta. Has nothing to do with Envoy or RAH, really.

except AA moving out of MIa would not stop us from flying Delta and having a base there if it was warranted. You guys read into that waaaay too much.

AA benefits from the same basing strategy we use where everyone flies every codeshare way more than Delta benefited from the Base in MIA. BOS was set up for DL but AA pairings originated out of it. LGA for us was a larger operation on DL than it was on AA pre covid and during covid though that likely will now change with the 170’s being moved over to AA. AA is benefiting off of our UA and DL operations in ORD...

Unfortunately ENY isn't a very proactive company as compared to the others. They'll keep procrastinating not taking into consideration attrition and early outs until pilot staffing levels hit very low then, they'll scramble to get anyone to fill in the seat.

I'm baffled right now at the news from PSA
