I know that a lot of newbies and seasoned veterans are here... but honestly guys... it still is a decent place to be. The checks haven't bounced yet, we are still flying...and we can still get from point A to point B.
I am not senior...at the bottom of the Captains list...I have to come in the night before every @#$# reserve period...my family doesn't see me...I don't earn much more than I did as a senior FO....who knows if, when, how I will move on in my career.....etc etc etc.
HAVING SAID THAT... the planes are well taken care of... I look forward to working with my crews... when I leave my job...I am stress free for a few days...(and believe me, I DID go back to a 'normal job' for a while...) and I get to do something cool for work. We have a great pilot community...and outside of the usual gripers in our group...we have a good bunch of people working for us. I also have a ton of respect for every other pilot out there...either in our group or with another carrier.
We have choices to make...if you don't like it...move on. You know what you got into when you made a choice to become a pilot. I was well warned before I got into this industry what I would have to put up with.
For any new guys hoping to get on with us or another carrier...good luck to you. It is historically a turbulent industry. I am sure I am just preaching to the choir.

How exactly dose the new hotel offer/policy really work? More or less does it totally eliminate the need for a crash pad if you are going to commute in? I am a Minneapolis local but have had interest in flying with Envoy and wanted to get some insider information; thanks.
Also, once you receive a class date does from Envoy, do they send you home for the six week CBT training?

Unofficially if there is wx preventing you from commuting, Off Scheduled Ops, etc. they are getting extra hotels nights that aren't counted against the 4 you can request.
I haven't had to pay for a hotel room since policy has been put in place. RSV and commuter.

To answer your question; only the very most junior on reserve doing daily airport standby or on RAPs not senior enough to get a trip need crashpads, but even they need them much less. It adds up to more money in your pocket at the end of the year, and much less stress.
With their projected movement, guys hired now should have a much better time than the guys hired 2012- early 2015 who suffered through shrinking and relative seniority stagnation. We've only hired 90 all year. 46 were in the past 2.5 months, so it's picking up as things slowly turn around. They've posted 55 upgrades over the past few months, and are projecting a need for at least 200 more next year. We have 300ish senior guys who won't flow to AA, and roughly 1,000 captains. So, of the 700 who will flow or leave, 255 (at least) will need to be replaced over this next year. That's close to 1/3 of our Captains who will flow/leave needing to be replaced in just over 1 year and doesn't take into consideration guys retiring here, leaving for Delta, United and elsewhere. 300 are projected to flow to AA next year. We have 1850 active line pilots, and taking out the 300 who will retire here we have 1550 hoping to step up from here. Just some basic math says that their projections of 2.5/6 for upgrade and flow are very possible. They have to honor those flow programs, or their projections don't hold water.
If their plan is to use flow to attract pilots to work here; then they have to keep that flow going, since the hiring is about to go nuts just about everywhere, guys will have options. If they don't make their flow work as promised, all three of their WO's will vanish as guys bail.

JD is correct (see below) but missed a few....
In addition to those, as a reserve you also get a hotel at the beginning or end of your block of reserve days if needed. Mid block you are hopefully on a trip, and if the trip cancelled in base you'd get a hotel.

......and once again, the "usual suspects" at Envoy (just a few demented pilots there) demonstrate their obsession with me. Yet another example of me not posting for awhile and then being deliberately ingratiated into a thread with their senseless baiting....in fact, snipe is the mastur of it.
I've read nothing in this thread as of late to comment on and wouldn't have save for one obsessed suspects fresh taunts.
Well then,................here I am !
You know snipe, EAP can help you with your compulsions and obsessions. Why don't you give them a jingle ?

The relevance of your "former" employee claims are impotent for purposes of discussion. Why ?
Well, many of YOU post on other airlines threads to which YOU don't belong (legacy, LCC and regional). You see, that's how this forum works..............it doesn't matter where a pilot is or has gone to, if he does NOT work for the carrier discussed in a particular forum. Claiming there is some protocol of legacy pilots not posting on regional forums is bunk. Many regional pilots post on legacy and LCC forums, including Mason.
But, when your goal is to attack individuals instead of debate issues, that all there is.................thrown rocks.
I guess some of you just can't live without me and when I'm gone for too long, a rock must be thrown to restart our fun.Rock (and message) received and understood.

I haven't posted here since the 8th, so I'm hardly obsessed and in fact wouldn't be posting today if snipe hadn't requested my presence in his convoluted way. Obviously, some can't live without me and call me back like snipe did. Gee, our last interaction was almost cordial and now another unprovoked whistling rock comes whizzing by and then..........well, shortly after that more of the usual suspects gather to blame ME for tossing the rock back from where it cometh.

Whenever you write anything, you try to sound like some sort of 19th century poet. I'm surprised you don't start quoting Shakespeare lol. That wasn't a compliment btw, mainly because the majority of what you write is nonsensical blabber. Carry on.

Looks like we have completed the reunion you three apparently so badly want. Things really must be boring over at EL for you characters to stir up the pot here. I suppose Shemp and Curly Joe should be ambling along shortly anytime now.
