They are already being delayed due to the deconfonformity checks and all the mx transfer issues to go to a new operator. You don't just have the airplane show up to PSA the next day. It takes 2 to 3 weeks to pull everything apart, take out Eagle slecific stuff, do all the legal paperwork and put it back together in PSA specs. They were initially planning 3 per month. That isn't happening. More like 1-2 now at best due to it taking longer than planned.

You have a lot of "sources" at Envoy for a guy who flies GVs to airports that dont exist. Let me guess, you have a lot of "Friends" at Envoy you still care for and thus want to keep up on whats going on here?

The good news is that since we stop shrinking soon, instead of 12-18 months from now, the upgrades would need to begin sooner, much sooner.

PSA will get to play catch up on their CA staffing issue without parking 700's
Envoy will stop shrinking and begin upgrading in earnest
AAG will keep their planes in the air, instead of parked on the ground

It's a win-win-win for all involved. A fairly rare thing in our industry.

So, Envoy will need to upgrade 270-360 pilots a year (270ish this year, and then 360 next year) just to replace the guys flowing to AA, which does not include guys going to Delta, United, Jetblue and others. Even the protected pilots get upped flow from 35% to 50% of every class. People hired here now, should upgrade sooner, and flow to AA in less than 6 years if AAG's plan works.
Thus far it's working exactly as planned.

Our flow is not dependant on growth like others. When the music stops there (which is getting close) the music will just be picking up here. It's looking like it's a good time to be an Envoy pilot.

Their plan gives Envoy pilots 50% of EVERY new hire class at AA. Lets see anybody else top that.
You quack a lot of certainty in these claims, but I see more salesmanship here than anything. How many F/O's have upgraded so far this year at Envoy ?

I've heard from some very recent flows that so far this year there haven't been many upgrades, so if that is correct and say 250 were to upgrade starting tomorrow, that would mean about 35 F/O's will start upgrading in June and every month thereafter. Can anyone ELSE confirm or deny the above claim ?

Also, how many Envoy pilots are getting 50% of US Airways slots as flow-throughs ?

50% of EVERY new-hire class at AA also doesn't seem to add up to reality. I guess I just hate to see pilots here led down the primrose path by those who have something to be gained by doing so.

ENY MEC Newsblast

May 20, 2015

Fellow Envoy Pilots –

Throughout the winter and spring months the MEC has been advocating on behalf of the Envoy pilots. One theme discussed with management was the fact that, given Envoy’s closing of domiciles, we would quickly become an airline staffed by pilots who commute not by choice, but by necessity. Our management has acknowledged this fact and has proven receptive to concepts that both enhance quality of life for our pilots and enhance the reliability of our operation. The “Critical Coverage & Hotels in Domicile” LOA has proven effective and popular by management and pilots alike.

In a similar vein, the Company has recognized the value in ensuring pilots are able to commute to work and that pilots should not be financially penalized for the dynamic nature of our domiciles under AAG’s evolving network plans.

Because several of the Quality of Life (QOL) items discussed earlier this spring are good for the pilot group, and also help ensure a smooth running operation, the company has accepted our suggestion that several of these QOL concepts be implemented without further negotiation or hesitation.

Starting June 1, the company will provide:

1) Hotels during training for pilots who are domiciled at DFW, but who commute.

2) Up to 4 in-domicile hotel stays per bid month for any pilot who lives more than 50 miles from his/her domicile (either prior to, or at the end of a sequence) for purposes of alleviating commuting concerns.

3) Parking reimbursement equivalent to existing reimbursement for pilots displaced out of JFK/MIA who parked at JFK/MIA or park at other airports and receive reimbursement for same.

4) Additional Commuter Policy (CP) attempts. Pilots shall be allowed to exercise 6 CPs per rolling 12 month period.

The MEC has allowed me to approve such items on a non-permanent basis until the newly reconstituted Negotiating Committee has had the chance to spool up and pursue these, and other similar opportunities, in a more detailed fashion.

The professional and experienced pilots of Envoy are an important asset to American Airlines, and I along with the rest of the MEC welcome this gesture of good will that recognizes the importance of the service we provide to this corporation day in and day out. We look forward to continued engagement with the company in order to improve the lives of the pilots as well as the operations.

The actual Letter of Understanding (LOU) is attached, please read it and address any questions to [email protected] or your local representatives.

In Unity,
Sam Pool
MEC Chairman
Some good news. We are anticipating more.
No concessions were given for any of these improvements.

We already recently adopted a policy providing for hotels in base anytime you were scheduled for an overnight and ended up in base instead for whatever reason. This also applies to reserves.

We instituted new OT rates of 150% and 200% for critical coverage, and the ability to have a hotel before/after the critical coverage trip. A 4 hour minimum for FO's on critical coverage OT days.

But what good this is for NON-Commuters? I don't see it as being fair for them.

This just benefits some yourself included.

Good Luck!

Lots of people drive more than 50 miles

Lots of people get stuck in ice/snow storms and can't drive to work.

Hotels in base on misconects helps guys that drive too.

We've gone from 7 bases spanning an entire hemisphere and out into the Caribbean, down to two bases in the same time zone 2 hours apart from each other. The vast majority of our pilots are commuters.

Flow through got you from Eagle to AA.. You wouldn't be there rght now without it. So it must be working somewhat. Lol

I take these latest developments at Envoy as a sign things are turning around here. We didn't give up anything for these improvements and I think that management is starting to realize we are an asset to be valued, not an expense to be shrunk away. Here's to hoping things continue to improve.
