"The lost decade" isn't just a period of no hiring at envoy. It is a general stagnation of the entire airline industry at the level above envoy.

There was a post-9/11 no hiring gap that lasted until mid-2004 where it resumed for a few months, then halted again for nearly a year. That is about half a decade. There has also been stagnation due to contraction from parking aircraft (SF3, a bunch of E135, and ATR) and closing bases, all prior to the bankruptcy raping.

400 year the next two years starting next year
Then 300 year onward.
I'm at best 4 years away, and thAts assuming the best, which won't happen.
I've also been here over 4 years and I'm almost back in reserve as an FO. If your hired now I also have about 400 below me.

Yes and I'm a feb 2011 doh, I'm still 1500 away. If aa doesn't stop hiring, and aa doesn't stop the flow illegally both of which they have a rich history of doing, I'm years away.

You should start seeing movement in 6 months. Much like we saw in 2011

The transfer of the 700's to PSA is very likely to be slowed. The slowdown should mean we reamain larger and when the 175's begin to arrive it will be replacement hulls so we don't actually shrink like the worst case plan projected. The good news is that since we stop shrinking soon, instead of 12-18 months from now, the upgrades would need to begin sooner, much sooner.
PSA will get to play catch up on their CA staffing issue without parking 700's
Envoy will stop shrinking and begin upgrading in earnest
AAG will keep their planes in the air, instead of parked on the ground
It's a win-win-win for all involved. A fairly rare thing in our industry.
So, Envoy will need to upgrade 270-360 pilots a year (270ish this year, and then 360 next year) just to replace the guys flowing to AA, which does not include guys going to Delta, United, Jetblue and others. Even the protected pilots get upped flow from 35% to 50% of every class. People hired here now, should upgrade sooner, and flow to AA in less than 6 years if AAG's plan works.
Thus far it's working exactly as planned.
Our flow is not dependant on growth like others. When the music stops there (which is getting close) the music will just be picking up here. It's looking like it's a good time to be an Envoy pilot.
Their plan gives Envoy pilots 50% of EVERY new hire class at AA. Lets see anybody else top that.
