Nobody knows when/if anyone will flow. In 1999, AA was hiring like crazy until September, 2001. Up until that point, just like today, it sure looked like flow-through times would be quick. Sure, I hope flow-through times will drop dramatically. But it is very naive to believe that there is no chance AA might stop hiring.

The flow hasn't exactly worked in the past, but it is working now. I hope that continues, but will not count on it to do so. I have apps in at all the legacies. The first one to offer a class I go to. If it's Delta tomorrow, that's great. If it's the flow a little later, that's good too.

I'm a Jan 07 hire. Reserve CPT and I'm not moving at all. So if the flow where to go as planned how many years from now to AA? 4-5 years? Yes, I have my app in at AA it's been over a year and not a word. I've just about given up on hearing from them.

The truth is pretty much the only way to AA outside of the flow was through US Airways. Many, many regional colleges of mine got hired there, even a bunch of fairly junior Eagle guys. The vast majority of AA new hires are ex-military and the flows serve as the civilian side of their equation. It's always been that way. I applied there the day after the app opened (Oct 2nd 2013) and have yet to hear anything. Meanwhile I'm a block holder on the Airbus on the US side with a "new AA" employee number.
