No, the numbers I put by the years are just seniority list #'s. I was just wondering why his were so much less than what I see. They just looked low for 2006, so that's why I looked it up myself on the ALPA list.

To get at 24 months through 06, I used the skipped 824 #'s on the selection list and estimate 100 or so for outside CA attrition over the next 2 years to be conservative.. and 20/mo thru November skipping the month we aren't sending any. Can't remember if it was June or July.. the classes are filled with recalls.

I guess anything could happen and the flow has been working so far this time.

Of course a new hire would get there WAY faster than we did if this keeps up, plus all the other majors hiring so much.

My man Ryan...if you will be at AA in two to three years with no interview I would say you have done well for yourself.

The most junior pilot at Envoy currently is about 5 years-ish from AA. Not too shabby.

It is a good time to be an Envoy pilot.

Shhhh....you are hurting the morale of PSA pilots. They'll have to go and stick up Doug and Tonic at the next townhall meeting to complain about how bad their lives are.

LOL @ Doug and Tonic.

PSA with hurt feelings begging Doug to save them at the next town hall meeting is a guarantee...

I use the 3U numbers which are day by day boots on the ground active guys. I know the union shows different numbers. The 3 U shows current guys actually flying.

From 824 list eliminating all people who have selected declined or has not made a choice to accept.

After that seniority list eliminating all non active pilots

This is also interesting. Firstclass has stated a total of 150 airframes to PSA and then calculated 10.5 pilots per aircraft. (I'm going to use 13.2 as that's closure with new 117 rules, I believe)
150 x 13.2 = 1980 pilots needed. Currently have 1175 as of May. So unless you are able to obtain Capt. status as a street hire or get your 1000 PIC before the more senior FOs do there most junior Capt may already be on property.

The good news is that since we stop shrinking soon, instead of 12-18 months from now, the upgrades would need to begin sooner, much sooner.

PSA will get to play catch up on their CA staffing issue without parking 700's
Envoy will stop shrinking and begin upgrading in earnest
AAG will keep their planes in the air, instead of parked on the ground

It's a win-win-win for all involved. A fairly rare thing in our industry.

So, Envoy will need to upgrade 270-360 pilots a year (270ish this year, and then 360 next year) just to replace the guys flowing to AA, which does not include guys going to Delta, United, Jetblue and others. Even the protected pilots get upped flow from 35% to 50% of every class. People hired here now, should upgrade sooner, and flow to AA in less than 6 years if AAG's plan works.
Thus far it's working exactly as planned.

Our flow is not dependant on growth like others. When the music stops there (which is getting close) the music will just be picking up here. It's looking like it's a good time to be an Envoy pilot.

Their plan gives Envoy pilots 50% of EVERY new hire class at AA. Lets see anybody else top that.

Don't know what's your agenda is but according to my source, envoy management hasn't mention anything about CRJ's staying longer let alone upgrading into an equipment that's leaving. It's my understanding that you guys are fat on captains so why upgrade when their plan is to shrink you guys?

Good Luck!

I think 11.6 is the new number. 12 for simplicity.
