The transfer of the 700's to PSA is very likely to be slowed. The slowdown should mean we reamain larger and when the 175's begin to arrive it will be replacement hulls so we don't actually shrink like the worst case plan projected. The good news is that since we stop shrinking soon, instead of 12-18 months from now, the upgrades would need to begin sooner, much sooner.
PSA will get to play catch up on their CA staffing issue without parking 700's
Envoy will stop shrinking and begin upgrading in earnest
AAG will keep their planes in the air, instead of parked on the ground
It's a win-win-win for all involved. A fairly rare thing in our industry.
So, Envoy will need to upgrade 270-360 pilots a year (270ish this year, and then 360 next year) just to replace the guys flowing to AA, which does not include guys going to Delta, United, Jetblue and others. Even the protected pilots get upped flow from 35% to 50% of every class. People hired here now, should upgrade sooner, and flow to AA in less than 6 years if AAG's plan works.
Thus far it's working exactly as planned.
Our flow is not dependant on growth like others. When the music stops there (which is getting close) the music will just be picking up here. It's looking like it's a good time to be an Envoy pilot.
Their plan gives Envoy pilots 50% of EVERY new hire class at AA. Lets see anybody else top that.

Get in at Envoy now and be at the front of a very large wave. Your interview at Envoy will be your interview at AA and you get to flow in a few years while upgrading to Captain in between. Be smart and don't just follow all the other rats as they scatter to this Regional and that Regional.
Given the large numbers of Envoy flows the only people who will get get hired at AA off the street will be Military pilots and friends/family..usually all three. That leaves you Delta and United...who also favor military pilots and the friends&family plan. Delta also has absurd College GPA requirements and will turn you away if you didn't graduate in 4 years.
So in the near future, what will be the best way to get to mainline? Think flow...

I don't post here anymore, I'm not a pilot anymore, but I do check in from time to time to see what's going on.
I find it hilarious that the fat little turd cujo is reversing his burn it down rhetoric and reassuming his Mason32 persona and trying to get people to come / stay at Envoy. I have no idea which regional is good, nor do I care but if anyone is taking career advice from this loser with Internet multiple personality disorder they should have their head examined.

Hey, I like Cujo, but I wouldn't call Bzzzzzzzzzzzt a moron for leaving Eagle. Bzzzzzzt was unhappy working at Eagle. I say good for him for leaving. If more people were brave enough to quit a job they can't stand, people would be happier all around. This is America, it's a free country.
