He has 375-400 total. He says he will be flying 90-110 hours a month. At that rate I would think he could build some pretty good time. Maybe by the holidays he could possibly be on his way to envoy. He mentioned that Envoy has issues but maybe hes reading it online like myself. But he would like to live in the DFW area since he has family there in the area. He's also in the process of renting his house so that will be additional income as well. I don't think its a money thing with him at envoy. I think he is more looking for overall happiness as a guy in his mid 30's with a masters. He got tripped up by the recession.
I would question where the 90-110 estimate is coming from. If it's coming from someone trying to get him to sign on the dotted line for whatever this program is I would question it. Find an instructor who's been there several months already and see what they say.
Second, on what basis is he qualifying for a restricted ATP? My understanding is that those are for graduates of qualified university 141 programs.
But again, I think by the time your friend is ready for a 121 job most regionals will already be offering the CTP program, which is what you need to taken the ATP written these days.

Once you complete the 1st yer, then is 2 weeks off until your 7th year (thank you concessionary TA). Before at the end of the 5th year you get 3 weeks of vac.

I see a lot of mixed emotions about the flow at envoy. I know it may seem hard to clarify but the airline industry, especially the regional side is somewhat unpredictable. We can choose how we want to live and where we want to work at the present time, irrespective of what the future holds.
However, with the information we have, and from what I read from others that have posted. It seems there was a 3year flow which turned out to be 16 because American was simply not hiring because of a downcycle.
Would it be possible to get on the E175 at envoy in 2016 and with the current state projected in 2016, how long would it take for someone to flow to American?

It's impossible to accurately say how long the flow would take. Right now, it's a 16 year flow, and American is consistently taking about 20 pilots per month. Theoretically, the wait to flow-through should become quicker, and the optimists among us tend to believe it will. However, as you have stated, if American stops hiring, the flow comes to a screeching halt. It would be nice if it does happen, but most people don't want to wait that long. I wouldn't plan on depending on the flow as any more than a last-ditch backup plan. However, you should be able to apply off the street to any major, including American. Pretty much all Eagle FOs are trying to get to a major or LCC, not waiting for the mythical flow. A lot of Eagle FOs are currently getting hired at places like JetBlue, Frontier, Atlas, etc.
