PDT and Envoy will merge. 12/4 is being pushed at PDT.

One last hoorah to keep the regional dream alive.

As far as I know the details of our deal haven't been released. How do you know it includes 12 and 4 payscales?

Just speculation I'm sure. It appears you guys are getting the same deal we were offered.

Ask Mason32, he'll confirm.

You're probably right, although I hope not. I've flown with a couple of our NC members and when I asked if the proposal under discussion was a PSA style 12/4 deal they both said that that was what group management had initially proposed but that they had managed to significantly improve upon the initial offer and that the deal on the table now was totally different than the one under discussion months ago. I'm hoping the only detractors that our MEC mentioned are slight increases in healthcare costs. Crossing my fingers.

I would expect them to close NY EMB this fall, shrink MIA as republic takes flying down there, and eventually give the CRJs to PSA as they merge us with PDT with 12/4 caps and crap pay. To them, this is a plan that makes much more sense than raising pay. Whether it is financially sensible to jump through this many hoops and infuriate so many employees in order to avoid rewarding pilots who have put in years of work for the company is up for debate. I have a strong suspicion it's not even close to worth it, but I guarantee their power point meetings will show big savings on charts that will never show the full picture.

My advice is to take whatever proposal they've worked out. "Standing up for the industry" has done nothing but hurt our career prospects at Envoy, don't sacrifice your future for some pie in the sky ideal.

Am I being naive, wouldn’t a merger of Piedmont and Envoy be a good thing? It would create a 3,032 pilot company with 264 planes. 11.48 pilots per plane, probably 75% would have flow to AA and the doom and gloom would be gone allowing for the new hires to show up. If AA flowed 40 a month and Eagle parked 3 140s a month that’s 25 upgrades a month for the 19 months it takes to park all the 140s. So at 1,516 Fo’s and 475 upgrades 31% of the current Fo’s will be captain before the planes are done being parked. That’s with no other forms of attrition.

Edit: Remember the flow is all captains 20 flows is equivalent of adding 4 planes a month, 40 flows a month=8 planes a month. If you were to get all 40 planes that's only 5 months of flows.

A merger is by no means guaranteed, even if we are merged the language in our contract is incredibly weak concerning mergers. On top of all this mergers are never quick and painless, you never know who will come out on top. Due to the fact that career prospects and upgrade expectations are factored into a merger arbitration those of us at Envoy could get hosed pretty badly.

Honestly no one knows what will happen, all I can base anything off is the past and today. Judging by those two things I would say the outlook is grim.
