The thing about the surrender bonus is that it's actually just distribution of the $34 million they already owe ALPA. Not that we would ever see it otherwise, but at least it could have been used to nullify the money we would owe for rejecting PBS. Now we're gonna take the payout and take PBS after the 40th RJ, so in effect it's a payment for submitting to PBS.

That's how it went down at Pinnacle. The common theme was, I'll use that money to supplement my income when I find my next job. Problem is they've sold out the industry and made it more difficult to earn a respectable wage in the future by accepting a small wad of cash. I guess it's no different than the corporate greed that created the mess the regional industry is in today. Or I suppose the same shortsightedness when mainline was bribed and voted to give up scope years ago.

Not true at all. The "bonus" is supposed to buy off the IAI and the credit for the amendment round, NOT PBS. PBS gets kicked down the road until the delivery of the 40th 175. Then we continue negotiations on PBS.

The biggest "buy out" of the bonus is the credit owed to us in the amendment round.

That's why I said "in effect." The money owed that I was referring to is the amendment round credit. However, this group of pilots was almost undoubtedly going to reject the PBS system, and the penalty for that was a certain amount of money that ALPA would then owe the company. I'm saying, IN EFFECT, this money and the amendment round credit would have canceled out, and since I don't see any option in the TA for us to reject PBS after the 40th RJ, it looks to me like PBS is a sure eventuality once we sign, and therefore, in effect we're taking a payout but losing our ability to reject PBS. I could be wrong, that's just how I read it in the TA.

RJ you are nothing more than a sick coward. Stand for what's right. Vote NO. Concession stand is closed. Keep the solidarity. Passing this TA will make envoy no better than PSA. Vote NO. You are worth more than than the slap in the face this TA is. What a joke.

This TA is decidedly worse than what we rejected in March, yet it would seem this has the support of both the MEC and the pilot group. *** happened? $12,500 buys a lot of suckers.
