6 years with an option for 4 more is an eternity in the regional world....not short term at all.

I wouldn't call a 6 year deal with 2, 2 year automatic renewals based on performance a short term deal, and I'm willing to bet Compass will still be cheaper, at the end of 2015 our average seniority will be between 2-3 years of service...

So, disappointments aside, if a pilot was shopping regionals at the moment would Envoy now be a good choice? Will there be movement/upgrades with the new aircraft and flow? People were saying that Envoy would be Comaired regardless of the vote, but it seems like American would be better off keeping their WO around.

All this is just bathroom comedy for Doug Parker & Company as they sit on their thrones. Your big ALPA jet brothers at the main lines sold the "commuters" out years ago. You now expect unity within your own regional groups? You suckers would sell your own mother out for the hottest piece of ass in town. Unity?....get real. ALPA is just a "feel good" utility company you pay every month.
I paid $2200 last year to Alpa. That's about the most expensive utility bill I got. Next is electric. Then Hollywood. I mean cable...

From the XJT/ASA thread. I agree 100%. Those higher paying, higher QOL regionals are pretty much toast in terms of getting better compensation as a result of this.
Now with this Envoy contract voted in and all the others who took a concession, any chance of us getting any real gains just went right out the window. So while pilots who took concessions, for whatever reasons, screwed the rest of us, the Unions are just as much to blame. We can blame the pilots all we want, but ALPA shares in on the blame as well. I think in our particular situation, both our MECs have done us more harm then good. We're approaching 4.5 years of contract negotiations without much progress. Yes, there was a TA, but we all know how that went, and now we are fighting over PBS again. The longer we delay our contact, the more it has hurt us. Had the MECs worked together in a professional, timely, and efficient way instead of acting like 5 year olds, then there wouldn't have been so much time for other airlines to vote in concessionary contracts. So now here we are with out much, if any, leverage. Had they stopped acting like children, we could have gotten a better contract, held the line or maybe even raised the bar; instead we stuck here with no clear view of what gains, if any, we can now possibly leverage. I for one, my patience is at an end with ALPA and both our unions. If there's not a TA soon, I'd love to vote every single one of your asses out. I hope the ERJ would agree with me. You fools are costing us, and every other pilot in the industry.

From: Downwind, headed straight for the rocks, shanghaied aboard the ship of fools.
Inded, the three AA/US wholly owneds looked deep inside themselves, discovered they're a bunch of self serving fools, and not only screwed those of us trying to better the profession but also all to come. I never thought I'd be this petty but pilots from you three are no longer welcome on my flight deck. I hope a lot of my fellow 121 Captains really look at what just took place and draw their own conclusions and act accordingly. Have fun working with these shining examples of humanity who will soon be foisted upon you.
