On One World airlines our boarding priority is behind their own employees but ahead of anyone else.

On non AA, non One World flights you can purchase ZED fares online through our company website. You and your spouse & children are eligible and many airlines allow you to purchase for your parents as well.

Otherwise, on actual AA flights it's the travel benefits I explained earlier.

Does anyone know if or when they will hire into the 175 again? Heard the 10th class is all ORD but possibly the 24th class? Also are all classes filled up for the forseeable future? I'm in the pool but don't have a class assigned yet.

They will definitely hire into it again but currently the 175 program is backlogged while the 145/CR7 programs have been relatively idle since the spring. Based on the current training schedules, I would guess that the 175 will again be offered to new hires in January/February timeframe.

That being said, holding out for the 175 right now would be, in my opinion, a penny wise, pound foolish decision. Highly prized among airline executive management but not very smart for an airline pilot working in a seniority based system. If you hold out for the 175 now, you may be sitting right seat in three years to someone who took the first class offered, hired two months before you but with a much better seniority.

I assume it's too early to tell, but with the new NY base opening, will it be difficult to get ORD out of training (CRJ or ERJ) and how long can one expect to sit reserve in ORD if awarded out of training?
Thanks

You may get it in training, but if not I don't think it will be too long with the movement we're going to have. ORD is junior to DFW. If you live in Chicagoland the LGA commute is pretty easy just due to the high frequency of flights. Also, the only 3 FOs I spoke to in the last few days were all junior-manned into working on one of their off days---so obviously we are very short-staffed at ORD at least at the moment.

Reserve recently has been very long but it is shrinking, and it's a fairly safe assumption that things will move fast. In previous years of heavy hiring, people spent just a few months on reserve. Everything comes down to how many people are hired after you get here, and all signs point to that being a big number if you are hired here soon. Best of luck.

This. Get in line, that's the most important thing in a seniority based system. Somewhere in the 06/07/08 hires there's a gap from 5 years to upgrade vs 8/9 years.

Waiting on the 175 could cost you years to upgrade or worse, FLOW!

Any chance of Envoy losing current flying? Serious question. The CRJs are supposed to go to PSA end of 2017. Where is Piedmont getting their 40'to 80 ERJs, Envoy right? WO shuffle.

How would waiting cost your flow, besides a couple of months? Don't you just flow when your number comes up regardless or seat or rank? Can Envoy stop the flow?
