Why threaten liquidation over a cap we supposedly would never need? It was a huge question for me (since our trust in management's word = 0), and one that was never answered. I voted no twice partly because of it.
That is exactly right.

I also have CJO from ENY and SKW. I saw we bring our experience, skills, and positive attitude to Envoy and chance it. Worst case senario, we figure out ENY sucks after a year or two(pay back less or no bonus) and go interview a SKY again. Envoy's upgrade is 6. SKW is 2-2.5. Even if you try Envoy and it doesn't work can you go to SKY, eat crow, and you will still upgrade sooner than if you just simply stay at Envoy. Let's give the guys at Envoy a chance. Let's get to know the people in CS. They prob hate their jobs as much as the pilots right now. Lets see if we can turn this thing around so they don't HAVE to pay a bonus to get people to come to that airline. I liked the people at both places when I interviewed, but I like a challenge, that's why I sit up front. I will prob be called a recruiter until Dec 19th when I show up for class, but my positive attitude is much more contagious than their negative one. Is yours?

LMAO....except for that little minor fact that seniority is EVERYTHING in this industry. The fact you would suggest to a new hire that they should RISK gambling a year or two of seniority, not to mention anything about two years of their lives, on the CHANCE that their positive attitude might rub off on Doug Parker is the height of ludicrousness. I realized that this company was disfunctional and no amount of ignored pipeline reports would fix it after six months working here. After 11 years, it is blindingly obvious that upper management doesn't value the opinions or input from front line employees. No amount of team-building rah-rah cheerleading will fix the systemic problems that exist at AAG. AS SEEN IN THIS THREAD, management doesn't even believe there is a problem with our QOL, let alone our morale.

Suggesting that potential new hires should take a gamble with their careers like that is the ultimate expression of management seeing employees as only numbers and cost units, and is a big part of the problem with the corporate culture at AAG.

His reply made more sense than your original post. Your positive attitude will get you no farther than the door sill, but kudos to you for thinking otherwise. Go where you think you will be happiest, and stay there until you get called to a legacy. Just don't expect that to happen in the next 4-5 years.

This is also good! So, should I go to Skw? You matter to me. You ARE being listened to. I hear you. My wife has read your response and we discuss this. Do you want me to go to Skywest? I am considering it. I want to come help you. I want to be JMed to you because it's my turn. In six months it will be someone else's turn, in six months after that, etc. etc. Your opinion matters You matter. I guess what I'm asking is do you want me to come work with you ?

I plan on keeping my resume current and applying to the legacies but Envoy has a lot of room to move up and get better and Skywest doesn't. I want to be in front of a large hiring curve and I see that with ENY and I don't see that with SKW. Every airline schedule sucks. My positive attitude is not for the benefit of the company, my positive attitude is for the benefit of me and my family. You are correct and your opinion matters. Maybe I can't improve the company, but I can improve myself and my family. All I can do is try, hopefully I get to fly with you and hopefully my smile rubs off on you. We are going to get stuck flying legs that we don't want to and we are going to get stuck in places away from our families when we're supposed to have days off. That is going to happen. if you and I privately are going to tell each other about our displeasure with our employer if you and I privately are going to tell each other about our displeasure with our employer. WE are not going to do that publicly. You might, but you will have to do it knowing that I am out there smiling and having a good time and making the best of a bad situation .

I might be a lifer. I might go back to my old job. I might start a new career. I've done it before being out of flying for 14 years. Maybe you and I will start our own business. I don't know if that will happen in four or five years or in 20 years and I don't want to know. I want to have some fun and work with Envoy Pilots.

I'm in class on the 19th as well, and I couldn't be more excited to start. I started a a ramper and have worked my way through the ranks and into a good position in the industry. I had options just like everyone else when it came to which regional I would go to. Envoy was my number one choice, and that was even at the old pay rate. Republic didn't give me the warm fuzzy, neither did Piedmont. I wanted Envoy because I see increased potential here and that was important to me and to my family. Do I plan on waiting for the flow? As of now I don't know, but I do know that most of us do have common sense enough not to develop a "I've got my AA ticket and I'm just going to wait for my turn to board" attitude. If the flow works in my favor, well then great. If DL, 5Y, UA, or FX call first, then I will once again see what is best for myself and my family.

I make it a point to come out of my office at the airport and talk to the Envoy crews. We only get the ERJ at my airport, but it still gives me a chance to talk to the men and women who are out on the line. I'm taking a chance coming to a regional, leaving a government job with a pension, but this is my passion, and I don't think anyone with true passion will let the negative comments pull them down.

I'm sure there are things that will suck, and we'll complain, but at the end of the day I'm making a livable wage and gaining experience patrolling the friendly skies. I'm excited to get to the schoolhouse and see how it all shakes out.
