145 ORD is staffing critical, we must have 30+ reserves on duty daily through December as flying decreases

Our planners are garbage lol

Could you imagine them trying to run this place without airport standbys?

Although I guess you could say they already do since captains get assigned things the moment they are legal to receive them. (or so I've heard)

It seems crazy to have to use 7 days of VC to just get a single 4-5 day block off. Can we use those left over days later in the year?

Thanks!
You don’t get anything back. But you can attempt to use pvd’s which borrows against next years vacation. So take a pvd this year and you will have only a 6 day block next year.

Is it possible to get a base transfer earlier than projected or do they make it exact?

Is there a way to confirm the RF 1 VOL went through. I screen shot the page after I hit send on MobileFOS, but I want to make sure I get that extra 5 hours a month. $$$

With AA W/O's now collectively some of the lowest paid in the industry, why does it feel like we never have leverage?

Can it be pushed further back or just moved up?

As far as I can tell BT dates on the flowplan are final.

I've emailed that Johnny Ricco character twice about two separate base transfers, asking for slower and faster, both times trying to spend less time in a hilarious overstaffed seat, and been shot down both times "due to staffing."

If there's another approach that works better like hounding the chief pilot I'd love to hear about it.
