Management came into our class today and told us that LGA is predicted to go up to 27 airframes. Is there enough real estate there for that much growth? I assume it will come at the expense of other carriers flying. Would they possibly switch it from a LGA base to a NYC base?

It's my understanding that it is going to be co based over time and I have heard similar. It'll most likely be the easy way to staff whatever small foot print of erj flying in Miami we have down the road.

The ONLY reason we aren't having a net loss of airframes right now is because PSA hasn't been able to staff our CRJ-700's that were already supposed to be over there, and we pulled 140's back into service from SJT to cover even more flying that was supposed to be done by other airlines.

Being short on staffing and hiring 70 a month doesn't have a direct correlation to our fleet plan in the long run.

But he is absolutely right that schedules are bad. That's why I love reserve. I get late starts early finishes. 90-110 credit. 14-15 days at home. Less than 10 overnights per month. Every now and then we get hit with a crazy month that makes me want to bid a line but then I get months like November and December where I hardly work at all.
Yea I call BS. That's best, BEST case scenario, NOT 14-15 days free of duty, and sure as hell not on the 145 CA list.

We probably had that many aircraft going through NYC when the base was still open. As far as I know the NYC co-domicile LOA is still in effect, but I could be wrong.

Uh...maybe on the F/O side. The DFW 145 CA list is zeroed out (and usually negative in terms of open trips) almost every single day. I've had maybe two reserve days in the last six months I didn't have to defensively proffer and was able to sit at home on RAP.

Prior to our return the total amount of 50 seat airplanes in AA's NYC system was around 30 hulls divided mostly among Air Wisconsin and TSA with PSA and PDT doing a little through flying. We're starting with around 10 planes which pushed out Air Wisconsin. Those planes in LGA came mostly at the expense of ORD with Skywest backfilling some of that flying with CRJs. The next 15 will either be from other bases or repatriated flying from TSA.

You can call it what you want but QOL for senior FO reserve pilots in DFW is good. Go back and look at the FO reserve list for December everything I have said is verifiable. Everyone knows RSV lines are 11 off and 12 if you get a conflict for the transition. When I say 14-15 days at home I mean not getting called when on a RAP and scheduled days off.

Every now and then CS will give me something nasty. I know there is always the chance of some bad stuff happening on reserve but that's the choice I make.

CA reserve is torture. People on here won't believe what it's like for CAs at Envoy. I see what they put you guys/gals through.

Oh, I didn't realize you were an FO. Yeah, it is completely awful for Captains. A lot of stress on families/spouses as well, I can tell you that from personal experience. But we're just being negative, says the management stooges.
