No to both. And you are expected to always take the extension. If you do not want the extension, you have to call in fatigue.

Only if it gives you more flight time that’s above guarantee. But usually it’s because of ground time. And we don’t get paid for ground time.

Why is this? Does the contract say you have to? Or is it something people just have been doing over time, thus the status quo? I don't think it is a regulatory thing that an extension refusal has to go with a fatigue call/report. Envoy thing or most others do this?

FAA leaves how extensions are handled to be worked out between the unions and companies Envoy thing or most others do this? It's a regional thing. Mainline you just go home no questions asked.
