I'm pretty sure it's the same for all American Airlines flight attendants too!

I guess it's just us that have targets on our backs. I've always been the "role model" employee for ten years. Show up for work on time, do your job, no losses-no exceptions, stay home when sick, etc. I tell you, ever since bankruptcy the culture has drastically altered to a 'take no prisoners' mentality. An employee doesn't have lives, they have work hours not used. They don't have sick time, they have money being spent away from work. It's abusive.
My last sick occurrence happened because, on a deadhead, I got the lucky seat next to a passenger who was sick. I got flagged by CPO because of it. Why? Because I've had many times getting ill. Every time I had a doctors note. They actually recommended I use FMLA. Ha! We all know what happens after that.

Also, for all the guys hoping to get back to DFW, here are the FO vacancies:
40 DFW 145
40 LGA 145
Since the last vacancy bid, there have been 85 new hires, and that's across all equipment. Definitely possible that everyone that's been hired onto the 145 (in the past 2 months) could be based in DFW if they want. There may even be new hires from next Monday's class who get DFW awarded. Make sure you have your vacancy bid preferences in. Not saying it is guaranteed, but possible.

What happens after that? Is there something wrong with using FMLA?

Discounted travel
My wife and kids want to travel to Europe this summer while I'm working.
I don't see my wife travel stand-by, especially if I'm not with her. Are there any discounts available that are positive space?
Can we even travel on AA code shares? British Airways, Iberia, Finnair?

The DFW ALPA captain rep was fired for using FMLA leave when he had a sinus infection. He will be out of work for a year before his wrongful termination grievance will be heard in front of an arbitrator. The company had a PI follow him around when he was out sick, spying on an employee while he was using his contractual and federally guaranteed leave time.
