The travel, health, and other benefits associated with the Pipeline/Cadet agreement are worth $5k as valued by the company. That will likely have to be repaid. Also, and part of the signing bonus received while an instructor will have to be repaid (no applicable to all instructors). Just like any job...if you provide a two week notice to Envoy and honor the contract you signed (I.e repayment if necessary) then you will be fine. Feel free to join any other carrier. Just be professional.

It only applies to some furlough status or something. If you just don't have the time (2,500 TT) then you can't use the 2:1 which is unfortunate because I think a TON of people will be bypassed this upgrade for lack of total time.

It applies to everyone. We had someone a few months ago get the upgrade from this. The paragraph is confusing because it talks about furloughed pilots in the same section but the wording is unrelated to furloughs.

Not really. We need CAs, we zero out daily on them not to mention all of the junior mans and extensions. Never understood whole mentality of total time means everything. It matters up to a point, but as far as I know there's guys and gals in the military becoming ACs with less total time than that. You can argue that the military training is totally different, but at some point you have to look at being a captain as a much bigger picture than just TT. Someone who has 4,000 hours TT where 3,000 of it was in 172s and the rest 121 is not going to be more qualified than someone who has 2,300 hours TT with 1,000 of it being 121 company time.

All I know is that I've had it confirmed from the director of training that it doesn't. I'd love to be wrong on this though, but unless something's changed in the last 3/4 months when I looked for clarification I haven't heard a change in how it's interpreted.

I wouldn't be surprised if this upgrade bid went unfulfilled in its entirety. I have yet to meet any FO that is going to take the upgrade due to the QOL difference between FOs and CAs. Until the massive CA shortage is fixed I think a majority will bypass the upgrade.
