There are options for 90 additional 175s after the 40 firm orders. There hasn't been an announcement yet regarding the options, but it's only a matter of time. AAG is still in negotiations over pricing of the 90 options. There won't be an announcement of more 175s until they get the lowest price they can get. All of the CRJs will be gone in the future. They will eventually displace guys out of it. Once you get displaced, you can move to any base/equipment that your seniority can hold. Basically, if theres someone junior to you in a particular base/equipment then you can choose to go there when you're displaced.

They also have to get scope relief from AA to exercise those options.

It can be done in other ways. For example PSA is reconfiguring their 67 seat CRJs to 65 to make them "small RJs." Also worth noting is that mesa has some very old CR9s with the potential of staffing issues coming up in the very near future.

Also Skywest is operating 70 seat CRJ 700s for American so those can be reconfigured to 65 seats

If AA wants to do it, they will do it. Plenty of ways to accommodate.

No. Envoy shows 31 tails on airfleets.net, but that does not include 51 or 52 of which many propaganda pictures exist. All information indicates the last delivery will be August.

The other question is how many first officers have been hired and assigned the airframe for training. The April 10th class only had ONE person receive the 175. Depends who you believe:

Quote: According to the 175 sim instructors, there is a big recurrent bubble looming on the 175 and they want to have that accommodated before additional new hires are placed in the 175.
or:

Quote: 1. Only 1 new hire went into the 175 last class. It's pretty much staffed up now.
Only what HAS happened will prove to be fact.

A lull in staffing of the 175 would make sense if an attempt to get caught up on the up to eight week delay in 175 FO training as well as large number of recurrents to do as well.

BUT, if Envoy does not continue to hire into the 175, or at the very least start having some DFW 145 slots in hiring, DFW is not attainable for a new hire, no matter the age. Saying "you can bid back to DFW before you finish training or maybe a month or two" is not the same as receiving a DFW assignment day one. Staffing is too dynamic. It may or may not happen. Recruiting is going to suffer.

Of course, going to a company hoping to get based at the headquarters location is usually difficult because it is usually senior. Anyone with the delusion of being based at DFW after a long wait for a flow to AA is in for a rude awakening.

Explain how. They are scoped out on large RJs.
