Cadets have not worked for the company yet. They were sponsored while working for there respective flight schools. They are also young and are already committed to come here. None of them were going to walk away due to selection priority on day one. Something about being on the hook for flight and Medical benifits received while in the cadet program.
Prior 121 get to pick equipment just to turn around and be displaced out of it to 145 LGA in the first 3 months on property.
Everyone else now has less motivation to come here. What they need to do is go back to the old system. While they are at it, increase captain pay so that they don’t have to junior assign these positions to our newest pilots.

They need to force upgrades if you want to flow. I'm surprised they did not do that for this very reason. There's no reason to upgrade if you are flowing unless you want to make 1500 more a month..

The company can't just all of a sudden say you have to upgrade to flow. The guys that are flowing now (protected pilots) were apart of the bankruptcy TA we voted for in 2012 and it was agreed that you didn't have to upgrade to flow. A lot was given up unjustifiably and the flow was about the only decent thing to come out it. It should cover all pilots captains or FOs with the crap we went through after that. If they want senior FOs to upgrade they know what to do.

The protected pilots actually came from a grievance resolution for American taking ownership of all our aircraft and us losing the right to go with the airplanes. The rest of the list came from the bankruptcy and then the post-bankruptcy TAs.

For a RAP 0400, you just stay at the hotel until getting the phone call, and then you have 2hr or (3hr in LGA) to go to the airport? How often do they call at 400 am?
Also, let’s say you get called for a standby shift at the airport while in RAP. Does your shift now changes to a standby shift for example 700-1500?
