So I am considering Envoy next year, probably Aug/Sept. I am currently under contract until July. I am also a slighty older candidate, early 40's. One particular reason why I was attracted to Envoy for the most part, was because I had been told guys my age would "most likely" get DFW on the 175.
Recently, I read that ENVOY are no longer putting new FO's @ DFW or in the 175, for now. Do you foresee these placements continuing into next year? I know things change based on demand, and beggars cannot be choosers. However, with my current family situation (2 kids, 4 & 6) I do not want spend months/years in ORD or LGA. I don't care about which aircraft I would be assigned, but I do care about how long it will take for me to get to DFW. I live in Houston, hence my desire for DFW.
I do not want to join MESA, but will "if" ENVOY are not assigning new hires to DFW mid 2018, only for the sake of QOL.
What do you guys think? I REALLY want to be apart of the ENVOY team, but I have to also make some more time for my children (by spending less time commuting), at least until they are a little older and understand a little better what I do. My daughter the other day broke out crying saying that I "never want to spend time with them because I always want to go to work." That broke me! I current fly a CE650, and spend most of my weekends on the road. At least once I am 121, I will have some sense of schedule, not so much flying 91.

I was waiting for the first troll. Based on your feedback, I am assuming you don’t have children. If you do, you’re probably a terrible father. Basically you are saying that anyone with children should not be in aviation. Do the world a favor, pull your lips over your head a swallow.
If you don’t have any positive to contribute, just scroll on. For the rest of you, thank you.

If you go to Mesa, you don't have any guarantee that they will always have a DFW base. I'm sure Envoy and AAG would love to bring that flying back in house. Just something to think about. We know that Envoy will always be in DFW and you will get back there eventually.
