So we are taking old information to prove points now? Let's go back to September and august and July and think why there was a pool. Couldn't have anything to do with the recalls? They stopped posting because there is no news to post. There were 50 in the pool then. Now there are the 35 selected plus the ones going later in Feb.

For the record, it is entirely possible that an increase in selection means they are planning on sending over 30, but it hasn't happened yet. It looks like there were 20 in the 2/7 class (source: counting names on interactive seniority list). The 2/21 class hasn't been announced. It would be fantastic to see another 20 in that one, but in the past they haven't been sending equal numbers to each class, so who knows.

I will admit I was wrong, and the wait from selection is a little longer than I thought (1 month longer), but still selecting 35 is the first step, and shouldn't be looked down upon.
This whole hired as an AA pilot thing is dumb though too, so go ahead and tear into CR for that one.

I don't even know what this whole selection process is for. Never even knew people would get upset for suggesting there is a difference between selecting and flowing. I always assumed it was the point a pilot says he wants to flow or just stay here. Kinda like the difference between being awarded a CA slot vs starting training.
I could care less how many slots they put out for CAs. I mainly care how many go to training each month.
So if you want to win this argument and say I'm wrong feel free I could care less. I'm years from flowing.

According to the 824 website. If we flow 30 in Feb, and 30 in March We will be into the 04 hires. Number 1090 on there was the most junior to flow in January. 59 numbers from that is a 04 hire not 110 as your math would imply.

Not trying to prove any points. This entire selection vs flow is a childish petty argument.

Well for the 824 yes. If your a protected pilot the only thing in common with an 824 is you have a pee test. You don't go over with anything except I think your id number. Btw pool selection is not the same thing as flying down to start class. It does sound good when you can use alternative facts and say a more junior guy is flowing or that a 2013 guy is upgrading when his class date isn't until next year. You get the idea. I'm sure cr700 will post that my facts are negative and that I'm being very rude to his bigly plans

Definitely not closing. It's shrinking as planes are shifting to cover LGA flying and CRJs beginning to leave again. But ORD is not going anywhere.
